Hard to believe Ford wants to do away with dealerships. Online orders/sales directly from producer - its coming!!

Patience - wait for your's.

Such tactics have to be an embarrassment for FORD...makes one question the ethics of the dealership.
In the other Ford daily FOMOCO was quoted saying that the price gouging was not going to be tolerated. So far I have yet to see anything done. People have long memories and this could very well come back to haunt Ford. I have a dealership that is only 5 miles from my house that I won’t set foot in because of past shenanigans.
In my opinion Fords dealer network is their weakest link.
Because of past experience my stomach flips every time I hear an odd noise coming from my maverick. I just don’t want to deal with it.
I really wish that I would have known better when I was sold a wrecked Aerostar and didn't find out it was wrecked until it started rusting out in the areas where the sheet metal was replaced. To add insult to the injury of the wrecked van the gas tank was cracked and when I took it to dealer they tried to tell me it was my fault and there was nothing wrong with it. I went to the gas station and filled it up. I got out of the van with gas running out of the crack and everyone screaming at me. I tossed the key to the service manager and told him that he could find the leak now and walked home.
When you buy a car you should not walk out feeling like you have been beat up. You should not need to take your vehicle back more than once if something needs to be fixed.
The aforementioned are all reasons that I hate buying cars in general and stopped by Fords until the maverick came out. I have an entire library of experiences similar to my van. Someone needs to get serious at Ford and put a stop to it.

Title reads: Just got a call from Ford..

When it should read: Just got a call from a Ford Dealership..

Big difference in meaning not having "dealership" in the title
Kinda like the first quote from the moon-

There's a difference between

"One small step from Ford..."

and

"One small step from a Ford..."

There was a letter from the President of Ford posted on this Maverick site...probably 7 or 8 month ago...That in effect said Ford would not tolerate dealer scam sales prices for the Ford product line...BUT his letter confirmed that FORD had a hard time keeping dealers from adding on scam markups for added accessories or services. All of this is why so many MANUFACTURERS. want to get rid of the typical vehicle dealer relationships...but many state's laws keep them from doing so...(via lobbyist's)..most states have laws preventing mfgers from selling directly to consumers. His letter indicated that offending Ford dealerships might have a change of mind when renewing their dealership agreements. Ford and all mfgers are dependent on their dealerships to service their sold vehicles...

I was fortunate to pay cash for my Maverick but I went to my Credit Union to purchase a Certified Check for the EXACT amount i was quoted...and presented it to them, telling them that this is what I was quoted...and I'd take care of all my tag, title transfer, etc...you just give me a bill of sale, I'll take care of the rest . Took me 20 minutes to take care of state taxes, tag, etc..when I got home. But rest assured they will pressure sale you on needing an extended warranty when you pickup the truck.
I got that speil.

IGNIGNXKT: You mentioned your Ford Dealer. I'm in the Phoenix Valley and wondering about my Maverick I ordered last September. I've been gathering a list of all the consumer avenues I'll hit my dealer up with if they try and manipulate the price. I won't mention what dealership I'm going through, but we'll see who gets their Maverick first and what happens:-/

Just picked up my Maverick from the same dealer that the OP posted about. My experience was really good. No dealer add-ons. Honored private offer and price protection without asking. Did my spray in bedliner and gave it to me for $499, which was Ford's original price. Did the spray in bedliner in 3 hours. I watched the Ford Tracker and knew when my truck hit the lot. I was at the dealer the next morning when after they opened. Truck was still covered in dust. Looked it over. Told them no add-ons or service policy, they said okay. The only thing I had to negotiate was the value of my trade-in. Would have liked a little more, but got what I wanted considering the savings in sales tax you get when you trade in a vehicle in Arizona. Just a contrasting experience with the same dealer.

Interesting... you and I were working with the same dealer in Sept... and I couldn't get them to strikeout the required dealer add-ons, nor protect the MSRP. Difference is that I was working with them on that Tuesday... they probably already had more orders than they knew would be fulfilled... who knows? I have a mild disposition when negotiating, I don't like it to go sideways, adversarial, etc.... Some folks interpret that as I'm going to yield at every turn... anyway, they didn't budge on those two request of mine, so I didn't place an order. your mileage varied... maybe you should negotiate my next major purchase. :D

I was concerned about the dealer experience after reading forum posts. That is why I was watching the tracker closely and showed up when they opened after the truck arrived. They did tell me in Oct 2021 they honored MSRP on special orders but added an market adjustments on stock units. I've attached a window sticker that was on my truck when I first saw it. So if I had not taken the truck, they were going to add a bunch of stuff. They gave me bedliner for $499 and not $899 shown on sticker.

Title reads: Just got a call from Ford..

When it should read: Just got a call from a Ford Dealership..

Big difference in meaning not having "dealership" in the title

Wasn't my intention. I call our dealer "Ford" in our house, not Earnhardt Ford, so that's how i wrote it.

Maybe I'm too old to understand but what exactly do clicks get me? Do I get a check in the mail because x number or people see a thread? Haha

I got the same call on a 2022 1 week before the 2023 order banks opened.

However, price was "We'll talk when you get here." While they already slapped a $10k ADM sticker on the truck, after we talked, I drove it home for $3k ADM on 2022 pricing and had a choice of 1.9% for 3 yrs, 2.9% for 4 years, or 3.9% for 5 years. I knew rates were gonna go up. So I felt it was a fair deal.
My dealer advertised no mark up on the MSRP. Plus I got the sales manager to sign the sales contrac.

Your post seems hypocritical. You're happy about the high price you can get selling your old car, but frustrated at the dealer for the high price the dealer is selling their on the lot vehicle. The reason you can have a high value is the same as the dealer. Why is it OK for you but not them? I get not liking it. I get not buying it (I wouldn't). But to come blasting them... you're doing the same thing.
Everyone really is assuming the worst of me today.

The vehicle we are selling is fully paid off. "Profit" being the value of the vehicle, about 10 k. If I bought this mav I'd be literally giving our paid vehicle up for free PLUS losing money.

So please, how is this evil of me again?

Really wish people would give people the benefit of the doubt before being so aggressive here. Im a good person and I treat everyone here with respect. All I ask is for that back. Thank you.

I lived in Phoenix from '95 to '05, I remember the Tex Earnhardt slogan " That Ain't No Bull" in his commercials back then , but see he died in 2020.... I'm assuming (since I no longer live there) they have a different slogan now?.... because that IS some BULL!!
Yeah same slogan. But agreed seems like the place went nuts since 2020 though I think that's more cause of the 'plague' and not because of his passing but you never know.
