Ordered a Lariat/Lux/FX4 back on 12/21, and just received this from my dealership.

"We had Ford contact us as well as all other Ford Dealerships nation wide today letting us know some information as far as the Maverick goes and how all orders will be fulfilled. So if you keep the : spray in liner Lariat Lux Ford Co pilot 360 The truck will not be build until December and will be a 23 model. If we take those off of your truck it'll be built now from my understanding. We have to know all changes if any by tomorrow to get them updated."

Last week, not getting the feeling that I was going to get my Mav anytime soon, I reached out to some dealerships and found a XLT/Lux/FX4 arriving any day now; went ahead and signed the papers for it. Didn't want to cancel my first order until I got the keys in my hand. I asked the first dealership if my price was locked in and was told yes, so I'm keeping my order in and might still get it in about a year. Win/Win!

Interesting.....I received a message from my dealer that I could have "dibs" on the next hybrid Lariat Lux that came to their lot. I wonder if this is why. Order date June 2021.

I received this exact same voicemail today. Even the "decision needs to be made by EOB tomorrow" part. He said it would have to be an EB to get something before then, though. Ordered September 8. That's some shit...

Get rid of everything and you can always add on after market

I've already got one, no need. I was gonna cancel my order, but if they sell me a 2023 Lariat in a year for 2022 price, I'm gonna probably trade the XLT in.

Maybe now people will finally start to believe my post from last Friday. So many on here, Facebook, and Reddit calling me a liar.

I feel very bad for this person...but it helps that I finally feel validated.

I don't think you're a liar. I believe straight up what you said. You reported what you were told. But we know it's not true. They still are scheduling. They just are further out.

I am a little confused reading this; I know you said you want to keep the original, but what exactly did they say to change? Just the spray in or something else?

Spray in, Lux package, and CoPilot 360. According to them they could build it now without those options, but if I kept them on the build it won't be built until the 2023 model year.

I just had to sign a copy of order sheet stating that I opted to keep the same specs. I have no reason to think they are lying, and I have an agreement to pay $36,605 for a Lariat with pretty much everything but a sunroof.

Your not the liar that may be what you are being told. That being said what the Dealer told you is not true.

I'm certainly not saying I know everything here, but I've probably ordered 30-35 Ford products via the A-Plan over the last 30 years and was in Ford Dealer Development in Dallas. Unfortunately, a number of dealers and sales people are telling customers who have ordered Hybrids the same story, hoping new orders will be placed so the existing orders can come in and be sold for a premium of thousands of dollars. You didn't state your order is a Hybrid, but some dealers are reportedly starting to do this on gas models as well. I am not accusing your dealer of doing this but simply stating that the number of these types of calls are increasing daily. I would visit with your dealer and if necessary, speak with the dealer himself or at the least the General Manager and get this in writing. You may want to get the Ford Rep involved as well to verify their story. Perhaps they may "change their mind!" At any rate, I sincerely hope it works out so you don't have to wait or pay an additional premium for a '23. Good luck, my friend!
