My Maverick is here! Traded in 2 vehicles, plus a bit of $$ for my new Lariat, in Terrain with the FX4 and 4K Tow packages.

So far, I really like it. Not much to compare it to other than my F-150 and my Escape. I've taken it on one quick 52 mile trip today after I left the dealer and I will probably take it out for another cruise tonight.

Engine is strong. Being brand new, I didn't want to put the hammer down (more than once) just yet. But it easily went up on Mobray Mountain, nice twisty road, and handled pretty well. Ride quality is good, might even be smoother than the Escape.

I still need to get familiar with all the features. Couple of quick photos, then I'm going to RTFM, or at least skim it. :)

BTW, the Red F-150 next to it is part of my trade-in. It's my old F-150. I will miss it, but I think I'll find enough enjoyment and use with the Maverick that I won't miss it too much.

Don’t read the manual and just post your questions on the forum. People on here love that! 😂

Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Maverick. Hopefully you will enjoy and appreciate the Maverick over the F150 every time you drive, park, load or just getting in and out of the Maverick.

Looks great, still don't get why they skip painting the mirror caps and tailgate handle.🙄

I’ve learned a ton being on here. Most people are helpful. Some are complete jerks.
Absolutely - I've been reading the forum for a couple of months, basically since I placed my order in mid-May. Picking up a lot of info, the strengths and weaknesses of the model, what mods are good, which ones are not.

Oh, tires were very highly inflated - 42# in 3 of them, 40 in one, cold. I let it sit a while after my drive and bled them all down to 38.5 PSI. So the dealer might have missed that. Also had to fill the windshield wiper fluid reservoir, which is Ok because I like to use the Rain-X fluid which most dealers probably don't use.

Did some more driving after dinner this evening. Wanted to take it up some more mountain hills, and do a little highway travel, plus see how the headlights are. All checked out good.

I still need to give the AWD a little more testing. I noticed on a couple of wet switchbacks that it engaged the rear drive before I even noticed any slippage. Very good, seamless. Might have to get a little dirty to test more. In good time.

I've been updating a couple of things already. Ordered some Husky floor liners, added a small convex mirror to the drivers side mirror (Yeah, I know, it has the BLIS, but I like to see what's there - also helps when backing to see where the tire is). Removed and stored the back head restraints to improve rearward visibility, and added a couple of important decals to the back window.

So far, based on the dash readout, I'm running around 26 MPG after 209 miles. I'm not certain of the accuracy yet, but time will tell. That includes some highway driving, but also a couple of small mountain road climbs and descents.

Starting to study folding bed covers. I want the security, but also the ability to use the entire bed, so a folder is just about my best choice. Had one on my F-150 and it was very useful at times.

Congratulations! I love my EcoBoost Lariat. Had it 2 mos. Got 36.1 MPG on my last road trip, about 2 wks ago. I'm not unhappy with THAT! And I'm consistently getting 24 -25, around town.
Welcome to the MTC. Get ready to open your wallet for some fun tricks and mods. :)
(I'm in East TN, too!)

Mods indeed. Looking at folding tonneau covers already. A little farther down the road, an exhaust (looking at the Magnaflow Street, since it's a little milder) and if things prove reliable, a tune. But one step at a time. I know that 5-star really woke my F-150 up.

Couple of additions - a folding tonneau cover, Undercover, and I made a couple of wood dividers out of some leftover treated 2X6. I added a little 5/8" thick that I had laying around to the top to better support any 4 X 8 sheets of plywood or drywall I might stumble across. That evens it up with the wheel wells.
