For what it's worth...

I visited my dealer today. The manager/back office person (small dealership) was familiar with the commodities report that usually shows things like "0% spray-in bedliners" or "17% Luxury Packages."

She said the report this week didn't list any percentages for anything.

What does that mean? -- Who knows?

The percentages like mentioned were for the monthly scheduling. I believe the only updates that come weekly are if something would not be picked now that was previously available or was now available but was listed as not available previously. IE when 4k tow became not available for 2wd and when hybrid couldn't be scheduled until further notice then the notice it could be.

What? ... You ordered a 2008 Maverick and you're still waiting?

Man, that's dedication...
You actually made me look :)

That should read 2008 Mavericks are ordered.

The math for how many LUX Maverick's was based on the current 2008 Mavericks ordered as shown in the database.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but does anyone know if you can edit your order directly with Ford? My sales guy has not answered my last two inquiries about changing my order and it's really pissing me off.
I called the dealer and talked to the manager, who handles orders, and he made the changes for me.

Yes. Tim mentioned that the commodity constraints are released at the end of the month for the next month so expect a new release at the end of September.

Current constraints listed at end of August are still in place for September.

Right you are. My bad on writing style.

I actually asked her about the report on commodity constraints that apply to this week.

That's why her answer puzzled me. I described the report (0% for this, 0% for that, maybe 17% for LUX packages, etc.), so she might think I had some basis for asking. She said, "Yeah, it doesn't show any zeros now."

It's possible that we were talking about different things (since she didn't offer to show me anything and I had nothing on hand to show her). But... if so I have no idea what she was talking about.

And I seldom have any idea what I'm talking about, so communication is hard...

I have a hard rollup tonneau cover with an Oct 4th build date.
Had that date since Aug 12th.

Both my orders have build dates. I thought that color had a lot to do with scheduling but who knows. My Bronco may get pushed to 2023.

Do we know what options are delaying the production/build at this time? I am about to put in an order and want to leave off what would delay the build. What I have in mind right now is--
XLT AWD w/ 4k Tow package
Full size spare
110V/400W Outlet
Spay-in liner

So not a lot of upgrades but I'll do without the Spay-in liner if that makes a difference. Even the 100V/400W outlet could go.

The stand-alone spray in bed liner is definetly a delay (only 3% of builds). I seem to recall the 4K package is a constraint as well, but may be wrong on that. I don't think anything else is and EcoBoosts are processing pretty fast now, though Ford has announced for the next two months of build schedules, the ~60/40 ECO/Hybrid is going to flip, and Hybrids are going to be prioritized (March 3500 Hybrid/2000 ECO & April 3600 Hybrid/2400 ECO). The only other constraint I paid attention to was the XLT Lux package (18% of builds) as it affects me. They did not break that down between the original spray-in version vs the new drop-in version.

Yeah, spray-in liner is such a constraint it was removed from the packaged options entirely, which were already receiving priority over stand-alone spray-in builds. Keep everything else as those are factory build options, get the spray-in done when you get it (or arrange to have it done with the dealer if you need to include in financing).

Found the latest constraints list. Keep in mind, this was for Jan/Feb builds. A new one should be released in the next week or two for Mar/Apr builds. As I stated earlier, we already know the 40% Hybrid is going to change to ~60%. Everything on the list with the exception of the LUX packages can be done after-market.

Tonneau Cover Hard Trifold - 3%
Tonneau Cover Soft Trifold - 3%
Bed Mat - 3%
Spray-in Bedliner - 3%
Bed Extender - 3%
Protective Fender Film - 3%

Is there something specific you know of that will change the hybrid allocation to above 40%? I understand Ford miscalculated their estimates on Hybrid Vs EB sales, however I suspect that is the reason they closed the Hybrid ordering in November, so that the Hybrids would be able to be built through the course of production for 2022, not that production of the Hybrids would be increased.

If they planned 40% hybrid for 2022, there is no way for them to change course at this point. While as consumers we think of products in terms of the final iteration (i.e. your delivered truck), the content of that truck is arranged and paid for well in advance, through year-over-year contracts with suppliers and vendors. The total Hybrid allocation was set when Ford made their production forecasts, likely before it was even announced in June.

Further, if the Maverick and Hybrid specifically are a way for Ford to meet overall emissions standards they very well may leave the hybrid allocations at 40% in future years . They make a lot more money selling an F-150 than a Maverick, so there is not necessarily an incentive for them to increase production of the Hybrid engine specifically, especially with a popular truck that sells itself with little marketing expense. I don't necessarily believe this is the case, but it is not out of the realm of possibility either.

A general caveat for ordering - if it is something you can add later, do it later! Mats, mudflaps, tonneau - all these can be purchased/added separately yourself or through your dealer.

Just because something isn't a constraint, doesn't mean that add-on you have in your build isn't resulting in your order being skipped. Think of it from someone whose job it is to complete scheduling. I have to build 8 trucks this week, and there are 10 in the queue - 2 of those trucks have a non-constraint item. If I'm simply sorting through orders, the 2 trucks with an additional item are more likely to be left off the scheduling list by simple process of filtering and elimination.

Keep the FX4, lux, 360, etc (anything that can only be done at the factory). Drop everything else!!!
