Unfortunately, the day finally came. I was heading home from work and got into a car accident. My first one and thankfully, a minor one at that. Both I and the other driver are okay which is all that matters. Also, the driver did not flee the scene which was a huge relief! I watch compilations on Youtube all the time of hit and run accidents so I was more than glad to not be a victim of one myself.
The rundown. I was waiting in the left turn lane, my green arrow activated, I proceeded like normal and then, all of a sudden, a teen in a 2015 Honda CR-V runs the red light, doesn't stop in time and managed to clip the passenger portion of the front bumper. There was hardly any time to react since it all happened so quickly. All I saw were moving headlights which made me stop instinctively. If I had kept going, they would've t-boned me making the scenario even worse.
Of course, I had a hard time trying to comprehend what happened. As a result, I was pissed and let the guy know about it. But, once the adrenaline calmed down, I directed him and I to the side road to get us out of the intersection in which I would call 911 to file a police report.
No airbags were deployed, no fluid leaks and both are driveable. However, this did trigger the check engine light and a notice from my FordPass App letting me know that an electrical fault was detected and certain features (i.e., auto start/stop) would be deactivated. It was evident as I limped it back home. I could tell the alignment is off since it wasn't tracking straight and it makes a weird humming noise at cruising speeds. I also noticed inside, my thermometer no longer works and displays an icon I've never seen before.
Now, it's just a matter of dealing with insurance and figuring out an alternate mode of transportation. It could've been a lot worse but it sucks when it happens.

Seriously, glad it was minor and no one hurt. As you said it was close to being much worse. Good luck!!
