Having to wait an unspecified long time for delivery there is another unclear issue when trying to purchase a Maverick. Will the dealer raise the price above MSRP? To me this is unfair and possibly not legal. This whole thing has become quite a game

All I can say is call your dealer's salesman. I asked this when I ordered mine and again when it came in. I was assured not only would he not change any thing over or agreed pricing, which was MSRP but that is not something the dealer would do. I believe any reputable dealer who wants to do good business and have return business would never do this.

This is one really good reason for this forum. It helps us all know who the good dealers are and who the bad ones are., ultimately so we have a good buying experience.

First off I am in no way affiliated with my dealer. I am telling all so if they live in the area this is a great place to purchase your Maverick I purchased mine in Maryland at Apple Ford in Columbia. They have a strong belief in taking care of their customers. They have a program called customer for life. https://www.appleford.com/apple-ford-lincoln-customer-for-life.htm
It includes lifetime coverage of the power train, free oil changes & tire rotations and free car washes,. They also have two quick lane centers in the area besides the main dealer to get you in and out.

Like others have said I'm sure there are bad dealers out there. When you get your order (DORA) signed make sure your email & phone # is also on order, It make tracking easier.

@ egress555...I, too, ordered my Lariat Hybrid through Apple Ford in Columbia, MD, and am relieved to hear you say that they honored your negotiated price and didn't try to mark it up when you picked up your vehicle. My Maverick is en route from the factory and I expect delivery in the coming days. Thanks again for sharing your experience with this dealer!

I just called Ford Custer Service and asked about MSRP. They said the dealer should honor the MSRP at the time you placed your order. They have the paperwork, which should have the original MSRP. If they don’t, they told me to go to management. If that doesn’t work, call Ford Customer Service. They should sale for MSRP at the time of your order.

Importantly, this is only what Ford Customer Service told me.

There is a Ford dealer doc here that instructs dealers to not markup MSRP for orders placed basically before Christmas.

I also ordered from Apple Ford. I cannot wait for my Hybrid Lariat to come in. So far, it is expected the last week of January, hopefully this holds.

I don't have any other experience with Apple Ford to date, but the experience has been good this far. They are even accepting X Plan.

@sseiler - Thank you for sharing the conversation you had with Ford Customer Service regarding dealer markups and for the link to the document that Ford has sent to dealers on this matter. Great information that is much appreciated!

Ask your dealer for a signed buyers order. They sign. You sign.

It's the only way to hold them to it. A DORA is not binding. And the dealer is in control of the price. Ford can pressure them, but no guarantees. Dealer mark ups are 100% legal.

Unfortunately, it is not illegal, unless they do after a SIGNED contract is initiated between you and the dealer.

How do you think they should correct the time it takes? They can't, the truck is in high demand and there's a line! If you think this line is long, order a cyber truck that collected reservations over 2 years ago and hasn't even started production yet.
