Issues with getting information on Order numbers and Build dates

Hello I was wondering if anyone was having any issues with getting information on their preorder. I did not even get a order number with my preorder and
without it I cant get any information from ford. My dealership is trying to tell me that build dates are not being issued. I am having to argue with them to let
them know that is not the case at all . Many folks are getting build dates and VIN numbers. Any suggestions?

I say this to folks, if you do not have a Dora, which you signed and sent back in, likely with your DL then you do not have an order.

uour Dora should list:
your name,
salesman’s name
a priority code of less than 20
and an order number

in addition to the specifics of your build.

I got an email from Ford confirming my order but what is a Dora? Thanks.

What is the name of your dealer? What are the specifics of your order? what options, trim, when?

It's the build sheet or order sheet from dealer.
And on that, the numbers you want are the Order Code and sales code.
Which is confusing because no one calls it that, not even on this forum or Ford CS

What he said. It's Ford's acknowledgement that the order placed by the dealer meets all of the parameters and is acceptable to Schedule.

I have never heard of Dora either. I was contacted by the dealership and was able to get my order number but no other information at this time.

I would ask for a Dora and check the priority code for something other than 80. I am suspecting more than a few dealers are trying to get stock units in using retail orders that may or may not pass muster depending on how closely Ford looks.
The pattern for a retail order (Build to Order) has been to pass the requested configuration to a dealer, dealer checks it, negotiates pricing delivery options (Direct PU, Freight Carrier, Courtesy dealer) etc. Generates a Dora (build sheet) has the customer confirm the Dora sign off on it and send it back. If it is clean (free of constraints) then it is submitted for pulling at the regional level based on dealer allocation and factory build slots. This then puts it in the production queue and generates a vin. It is produced, transported, prepped, paid for and then delivered/registered etc and it’s yours.

That is so weird...when I order I got everything show to me to sign including alll the prices...I got a deal where I only pay inventory prices..so I say the two numbers and could then see the price I am paying against MSRP.

My dealer came up with some story about how they can't discuss pricing before my truck arrives and even threw in that they "don't think x-plan will apply to the maverick" etc.

I recommend going into the dealership and requesting the dora (which was supposed to be signed by the buyer) which will also have the Order Code (XXXX), pricing list and priority code. Emails and texts are fine an dandy but not in this situation IMO.
