Issue with Upper Console Clip

My upper console clip kept falling out, had to go in for oil change and mentioned it to my service manager, said it is covered! the whole console has to be replaced, not just the clip as that is not available Jokingly said super glue it in, if you do you void the warranty. So just saying don't try to repair simple things as it may void the warranty. She also told me the "long" something now has an extended warranty of 100,000 miles or 10 years. rate I'm driving the 10 years will come first!!! just wanted to point out what my service manager just told me and forward it to all others

Assuming the OP means one of the headliner clips- After my botched airbag recall I pushed on the rear center of the headliner and it popped into the clip. Guess my tech was too weak to actually perform this maneuver- lol

The clip that holds the sunglasses compartment closed, they whole thing, light and upper console has to be replaced just for the clip!

it is the console that is above your head in the center of the roof where the dome lights are

That is quite lame. Ours works fine but I rented a Bronco last month on vacation and its sunglass holder would not stay up. I assume it needed a complete roll cage replacement.

Sorry. The dealer may be correct that it would void the warranty to DIY it, but only pertaining to the sunglass holder replacement if your repair doesnt work.

Ok, makes sense. My console up there is different due to me having a sun/moon roof.

Now it makes even more sense. My upper area doesn't have this at all.
