No! I brought the truck in for warranty work, told 'em about the problem - they said they updated it, and they didn't. My radio generally does work OK. However, couple of weeks ago it froze for the first time when using Android Auto, and I did a reset on the head unit that unfroze it.

Our home internet wireless router isn't far from where the truck is parked either. I should try again. I really would like to have it updated - I've never been able to get Android Auto split screen to work, dunno if my phone is too old, or if it's the head unit.

Wow sorry to hear that, that's super frustrating. If it were me I'd take it back to the dealer and verify it right then and there. Considering it won't even update I'd assume starting with the head unit is best and once sorted you can figure out if it's the phone. Good luck with it!

Weird thing, today all-of-a-sudden the magic Android Auto "Coolwalk" splitscreen appeared. I read they were rolling it out slowly...

I'll have to confirm, but my screen head unit never updated, as far as I know still has original software.

So, has everything to do with the phone. I have an older midgrade Samsung A70, nothing special.

The Android Auto Vers 11.4.640814-release is what I was waiting (and waiting) for, I guess

Cool, Coolwalk... finally.

Where can you download the software to install by USB? This would be way easier for me.

Many routers lose 50+% signal strength in 30 feet without interior walls. That's why repeaters are sold. Plug your router in next to your truck

Unfortunately if you have an XLT or XL trim, you have what Ford calls synch 2.5 lite. The Lariats have Synch 3, which you can update with a USB stick.

The only way I ever got my XLT to do an over the air update was to park in a lot far away from any other wifi signals. Once there I would do a soft reset on the system and use my phone as a hotspot. Then I would connect to the hotspot and update the software. This may take a few tries.

Good luck!
