If a person can order the Ford perf springs/dampers for around $550 shipped, why does the price start at 1300 as a package? Just curious.

I thought the price seemed a little outrageous myself…

They have to pay the shipping guy at the factory $10/h to put stuff in a box together and slap a shipping label on it, vs just slapping the label on the manufacturer boxes. Beyond that, pure profit.

I wasn't trying to start anything at all, just genuinely curious as to why it looks like a $400 charge per front corner to preassemble.

Looks like you can order the entire package with F/R sway-bars, all new hardware, toss in the camber bolts and rear adjustable camber components and strut brace for basically the same price.

I wasn't trying to start anything either. It's just an observation of how business works, businesses are in business to make money, the means by which they do so is up to them. Customers have to decide if that company is worth doing business with. If you think $400 to get a bundle together isn't a good deal, look elsewhere. It's just that easy.

It looks like its $800, but yeah, I agree. I was curious as to why it was so high/Poking the bear to see if it was an oversight or just that much to drop on springs and tophats.

We’ve been following the discussion regarding the pricing of our new Maverick BYOS kit, and we really appreciate the feedback. We understand that when looking at suspension components, the "bottom line" is a major factor, so we wanted to provide some transparency regarding how this kit is priced and the value it offers compared to sourcing parts individually.

When we developed this package, our goal was to create a streamlined, "all-in-one" solution that actually saves the owner money and time and eliminate the "headache" for the customer and the need for specialized tools. Our BYOS kit includes the dampers, rear bump stops, dust covers, shock mounts, top/bottom spring isolators, and hardware all in the base package, pre-assembled. You are receiving the expertise of our technicians as we handle the assembly here at Steeda so that when the kit arrives at your door, it is ready to go.

We priced this by looking at the total cost of sourcing every individual component plus the national average shop rate for assembly. Even with our professional labor included, this kit is designed to be approximately $300 less expensive than if you were to source these parts and pay for assembly/installation separately once you select your springs.

if you’re a DIYer, you’re pocketing those savings. If you take it to a shop, your installation time is roughly cut in half because the most time-consuming work is already done.

We're happy to answer any other specific questions or provide more details on the components included!

Sounds fair to me. People act like making a profit is some sort of crime. How do you expect people to stay in business?
