Interior Lighting (dome lamps)

When a door is opened and key is in hand, in a dark garage, the interior lighting does not go on. When a key is in the ignition and a door is opened, the interior lights still dont go on, until the vehicle is started. When you turn off the ignition and remove key and exit, the interior, the front dome lights go on but not the one over the back seat. The control switch is correctly set to the middle on the overhead console. what setting is not right??????

Sounds like "deep sleep" mode and 12V battery conservation, but your last two sentences confuse me. Lots of threads; search "deep sleep" for info on first part.

Thank you waterick for he response. Read deep sleep. Looks like its a common issue, that said I have never gotten any kind of message regarding deep sleep and the truck has never been idle for more than 3 days. Guess I will be calling ford service.

My '22 Lariet (push button) works the same way. I don't like it but that's the way it is.

This issue has been happening ever since the '22 model year. Replacing the cable overlay doesn't really help and the dealer keeps insisting the battery is fine. As long as it starts with the keyfob, I am content with it.

Pretty sad when a major auto corp has a design defect and doesnt do anything about it. No courtesy lights when opening any door. Should be a class action suit on this one but cant afford to start one. the poor dealer gets stuck with trying to fix the problem when there is no clear-cut solution. And yes it is more annoying than functional

I have noticed the the interior lights will not go on when a door is opened after the truck has been sitting for a longer amount of time. Went on vacation and came back to go to work a week later and no lights when I opened the driver door. Closed the door, put key in ignition and started truck. Interior lights never came on. Got to work, shut off truck and removed key. Interior lights came on like normal and all has been "normal" since.
