installation of bakflip mx4 hard tonneau on 2025 maverick

Hi Folks,

Was trying to install a new bakflip mx4 hard tonneau on equally new maverick. Something confuses me about affixing the rails with the clamps - only thing I can see is those clamps will clamp onto the plastic rail covers (not to metal.) Is this correct? Seems a tad flimsy.

Are you sure you have the inner-side of the clamp fully engaged up into the rail?

yes, and there is no metal with which two engage. The picture is not the way my truck is made. It feels quite solid.

OK, close examination - there does seem to be relatively thin sheet of metal to which the plastic seems bonded. So all good.
