Wife WANTED Sirius to be transfered to new truck so I jumped on it the day the free 3 months was expiring. That was about a month ago. Yesterday got an offer in the mail from Sirius, "your Maverick is not the same without Sirius. Renew it now to get 12 months for $5/month."

That's a great price, I would take it. Once you have Sirius, it's hard to give up.

Just call and tell them you want to cancel, and you'll get it.
I thought about that, but canceling is a horrible process. "Click chat to cancel" and it is a minimum 30 minute chat process. They make it hard to cancel. I get why they want to make it hard but it has bred into me a general discontent with Sirius. Long story but I would have kept the old truck on Sirius if it were not for their nasty cancel process.

I must get the "good" chatbots; it is never more than 10 minutes at worst for me. I literally have a calendar reminder to threaten to cancel every year when whatever offer I am on is about to expire. Yes, the Sirius folks are scripted - but so am I. :D

You likely won't even have to threaten to cancel. Do you pay monthly or did you pay for a full year up front recently? My wife had a similar thing happen with her new Toyota a few months ago and she just called them and said she got an e-mail for $5 a month after she renewed and they told her no problem and they updated her rate to $5. She pays monthly though, if you paid for a year up front then I'm not sure what they would do.

Thanks for that! We are monthly. I will give it a whack. I never thought they would do it after the fact.

Only problem I have with Sirius is the quality sucks. In my previous car I just streamed it via the app in CarPlay which sounded so much better. But it is nice to have for general listening.

Yeah they are scummy. Trial ran out. Waited for the CALL, signed up on a promo, then they KEPT calling... a month later, "On your 2024 Ford Maverick" I'm like I'm already subscribed!

I have like 5 radios on my account so they are getting there money.. But I realized on radio that I had been paying for a radio we havent even had in almost a year, cancelled it... Kept getting calls wanting to offer a promo to activate it... I'm like why would I want to activate a radio I no longer have lol.

Makes you wonder why they just don't lower the price to begin with, since by now most people should know to call and cancel, or wait for the discounted offer. - I can't see us paying the full rate on two vehicles in the house, not worth it when I can stream Amazon Music, or other sources for no additional cost.

I always call at renewal and tell them how much Spotify amazon and other vendors charge for streaming. They always oblige to lower the rate to something comparable if not cheaper.

Easier and less time consuming for me to change my payment method. I tell my Credit Union, I want a new card, I get a new number and update which subscriptions I want to keep. All the rest can pound sand.

My wife and I are both retired so no more commuting back and forth to work. We don't spend enough time in our vehicles to justify Sirius Radio. When she canceled the subscription, she got better and better offers from them for months. I think the last offer she got, they were going to pay her to take the service. 😆😆

Cancelling and reupping is a quick process I do it every renewal period if I miss the renewal email or forget to beat them up before the auto renewal happens.
Been doing it for years on both my vehicles.
I wish knocking cable down were this easy.
