I have a 2.0 Lariat I bought off the lot while waiting for my '24 Lariat to come in. Someone hit me in the drivers door and it seemed easy: Drop the 2.0 with the Ford body shop and pick up my hybrid. The hybrid arrived in Chicago in early February but never made it out to me and I was getting the runaround. Finally I was told it was the gas tank recall and it wouldn't arrive till FOURTH QUARTER. Now I have to rent a car while my present Mav gets repaired cause the insurance company wants it done. How long does it take to change a gas tank. Irritated.

I've heard of the recall on older models of Mavericks. I could be wrong, but I'm not aware of a gas tank recall on a '24 MY.

My truck is in the same boat. Talking to the Sales Manager, it sounds like Ford won't let them sell the trucks until the repair is done, but they also aren't going to make any extra gas tanks until the end of the MY production run, sometime in Q4 2024. He's looking into reenter my order as an emergency replacement order with a super high priority code, as at this point, it looks like it would be faster to start the process again, for the third time, that it would be to wait for the repair. He says he needs to have someone higher up at Ford sign off on it and switch my private offer over to a new VIN. He's hoping to hear something back today, so crossing my fingers.

I'm willing to slap some epoxy or hot glue on it till the tank comes but that's far fetched.
Damn thing is sitting on a lot just waiting.
I wonder how I can get ahold of someone further up the ladder and do some serious whining.

The next step up is regional. You should be able to ask the dealer for the phone number to the regional office. They do not like to give it out because they do not want to hear from regional. Or you could always stop at another dealer and get if from them, and tell them you need to complain about a different dealer. If you get any kind of survey, give them poor numbers. Don't forget to go on Facebook to their website and complain in a nice sort of way..............................p.s. use JB Weld, not epoxy or hot glue.
