I covered my pleather lariat wheel with a $7 target cover. feels good and is easily washable if need be.My XLT came with the pleather one.
I guess that was part of the LUX pkg?
Remember in the 70's those huge but thin steering wheels?i prefer a thicker steering wheel to hold on to.
Yes I do! With a 4 speed manual transmissionRemember in the 70's those huge but thin steering wheels?
That is a nice wheel! Although I'm trying not to get too carried away with my Maverick other than fairly inexpensive little doo-dads. I've got a project car that requires my hard earned money already my daily can't take overI'm surprised that nobody posted this yet, but here is a fine video guide on how to swap your Maverick steering wheel:
Its really not that difficult. No special tools or FORScan programming is required.
I'm don't think there is a complete list of compatible wheels, but if you search ebay for Bronco Sport, Escape, or Focus wheels, you should be able to find something that works. Keep in mind that you'll be swapping the buttons over, so don't worry if those match on the donor wheel or not. However, If you have a heated wheel on Maverick, you will want to make sure the donor wheel is heated.
I certainly would not go with the ST wheel myself, but if you have a plastic wheel and wanted to upgrade to leather, it is an easy upgrade. Not very expensive either. For example I just found this Bronco Sport leather heated wheel for $161.That is a nice wheel! Although I'm trying not to get too carried away with my Maverick other than fairly inexpensive little doo-dads.
Needed the extra leverage before power steering became widespread. Especially at low speeds….Remember in the 70's those huge but thin steering wheels?
People have been doing this around here for at least 3.5 years...I'm surprised that nobody posted this yet, but here is a fine video guide on how to swap your Maverick steering wheel:
Would’ve loved to get heated seats for my lower back in mine. Slipped two disc while working, but after all’s said and done I don’t think I would’ve changed anything. Love my truck and I would be hard pressed to change anything about it.Understandable. I researched these for 3 years before I found my way into one. I didn't know what I wanted after reading all the available options lol but like you I found mine on the lot. Was the color I knew I wanted and a few weeks after finding it I wrecked my Elantra. Courtesy of a bad driver pulling out in front of me. Needless to say a month after my wreck I found myself getting it. So options were picked for me, including the cap. I have to say no regrets at all. Yes heated wheel and seats wouldn't be bad but I had no complaints last winter. I myself am glad it doesn't have all the assisted driver features. My girlfriend's Escape has all that and it drives me bonkers with the vibrating wheel and whatnot lol but to each their own. That's why they make the different options available![]()
Now I’ve got a heated steering wheel,I used to wear driving gloves. They made the steering wheel feel so much better, especially in winter. It took my '70 Vette forever to warm up and the steering wheel was like using a chunk of ice.
$50, FIFTY dollars for a steering wheel cover !
Definitely looks sweet but $50 and I've got to be a seamstress too?!$50, FIFTY dollars for a steering wheel cover !
Dammit man !
