That really sucks..... I have had 3 larger size rocks hit mine. I feel very very fortunate that it has not gotten a crack in it yet. I hate the new "Road Fix Machines" that only are tar and rocks sprayed to repair a crack. They should not be allowed to use that on Interstates or major highways.

Last week some a*hole around here was hauling a pile of pea gravel on the highway in an open trailer with a mesh ramp-gate on the back. He was in the left lane - but to his credit, he was going faster than average traffic... After about the 3rd or 4th click-clack on my windshield I got around him and verbalized my emotions in his direction. Luckily no marks for me - this time. Sorry about your uh-oh christening.

I got my 2nd chip this weekend. Planned to seal the chip when I got home. I parked somewhere for 30 minutes and it had grown to a 2' crack. Worked with my insurance to have the windshield replaced. They chipped the paint on the A pillar and tried to suggest that the paint was bubbling and none of their tools would've caused that damage. I of course, took tons of detailed pictures before I let them work on the truck. I eventually showed them the evidence and they admitted fault. They're supposed to reach out to me to resolve the paint damage today.

Make sure you take lots of detailed photos before you let anyone work on your truck.

I've now had 2 cracks in my mavericks windshield in ~14k miles. I've only ever had a single crack in my other vehicles over the last several hundred thousand miles.

I got my chip last Tuesday and within a few hours it grew into a 15" crack. It was a loud crack from a garbarge 18 wheeler. 4000 miles and a new windshield.

If your insurance tries to send AAA autoglass, stay away... They were hell bent on replacing the windshield for one tiny chip. The inept tech made it worse so I told him to just leave it alone.

I wish I would have insisted on Safelite up front. They came out and fixed the other chip without issue, but couldn't do anything with the one he botched because he had already tried to inject resin.

Congratulations on getting your Maverick! Bummer about getting a rock chip so early in ownership. I was one month in and got worse than that - rock hit windshield and within a couple days was cracked across about half the windshield. Was not happy.

Perhaps one way to ease your pain is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

We got a crack in Oklahoma on old PriusV, took to Safelite 2x in Grand Junction CO, first the replacement was for a regular Prius, then back the next day, the next one was cracked worse than my cracked windshield, finally got it fixed in Daytona Beach when we got home, not thrilled with Safelite.

Update, the Safelite guy that fixed my chip seems to have done a good job, it hasn't changed since.
Nice guy, I'm happy to this point.
