35 south thru Oklahoma into Texas. Gonna just drive till we find a motel to crash at for the night, then push to make it home on day 2.

That's great news

That's great news. Once Savannah confirmed that my truck made it to Granger, finance reached out to me the next day via email. I electronically signed the documents and made an appointment to pick up the truck this Friday so that I can pick up the truck at the same time as my sister. The whole process can happen quicker than 1.5 weeks but if you are flying out on oct 17th then that should be more than enough time to get everything in order before you come to Iowa.

I'll keep an eye out for other Mavericks when I get there on Friday. Maybe I will see yours all ready to go.
Mine should be sitting around there somewhere. I can't get to it until the 14th.

I am planning on getting a 6am flight, but I'll have a connecting flight somewhere. I hope to get in and out at Granger by 1pm. Then I'll have a 12 hr drive home but will lose an hour due to time change. I have spotted a few rest stops in Indiana along my route. May stop at one of them for a power nap and then continue on my way. My main concern is deer. Most of my drive will be dark and in farm/rural areas.

those of you who will driving back to wherever you are. Where do you plan on stopping along the way? I can't imagine you will driving non stop. For me, I might stop by at an airbnb somewhere in St louis and rest over night then drive 9 hours straight back to Atlanta the next day.
I'm driving to St. Louis, so definitely non stop 😉

I have family and friends in the Quad Cities, so I'm planning to stop and see them before driving home the rest of the way. Will likely make the final push in one day.

Yep I saw three Area 51 Mavericks waiting for pickup today at Granger. Two where XLTs and one Lariat.

My sales person said that they have been getting more trucks lately. Sometimes they get two car carriers arriving in a day.

The lot was surprisingly pretty full. Mostly presold trucks waiting for their owners to pick up.

Pick up experience was quick and easy. If it wasn't for all my picture taking, it would have taken 10 minutes to go over the features of the truck and do a quick inspection.

Any small towns around St. Louis you recommend where we might find a good bed and breakfast? Or places to stay in the city proper?

Check out the St. Charles, O'Fallon area. You might also find something cute just across the river near Alton.

I'll be flying into Des Moines from Albany, NY and then driving my new Maverick back to the northeastern part of the state; about 18 hours of driving. My halfway point is around Toledo, OH and I might stay overnight in that area vs. driving, napping, driving all the way home.

baodotcom got there to pick up his truck, and found mine. He took pix of it for me. Thank you!! The mythical silver buffalo does exist. Now to go get it. Ashleigh informed me of a recall involving something to do with the brake lights, or brake light switch. I did some research on "The Googles" and apparently this is something affecting braking with 4K tow pak models and some F150s with this feature pulling trailers with electric brakes. That the trailer brakes might not apply when needed.

Ford is saying It appears to be a software issue. Being that no trailer brakes is a monster of a liability issue and rightfully so, they will be keeping the truck until they sort out the recall and fix it. These are the photos baodotcom sent me of my silver beauty of a truck, and the sheer numbers of mavericks on the lot.

Definitely a nice looking truck. I was a bit surprised at the number of Mavericks waiting around for their owners but make sense now that Granger is getting the cars that were ordered 10+ months ago.

I lived in St Charles County, MO for 8 years. St Charles, St Peters, Wentzville, New Melle, Defiance, or Augusta would be where I would look for lodging options. Washington and Hermann, MO are great towns too.

That’s good! I’ll be flying in to pick mine up, it’s been built but it’s still at the factory. I’ll have about a 17 hour drive back home to North Carolina.
Me too but driving to SC. I don't like driving at night and no more speed runs so plan in taking a leisurely 3 or 4 day trip.

Thanks for keeping the Granger dream alive for some of us that had to go another route…
My personal health has me out of the running for a new Maverick, but I was with Granger and had it all planned out. For us it would have been Amtrak back East and a nice run back home via the Black Hills and Murdo SD. - then going through Yellowstone as I was a park employee for five years.
Hoping you get your ride soon so you can enjoy a Fall run and we can live the trip and new Ford fun via your posts.
All,the best ….✔🇺🇸
