After placing my Tremor order back in September, and getting no positive indication that I’ll ever receive my truck, I’ve decided to move on. I have very little confidence that I’l receive one as my dealer is on the smaller size and they have not be transparent with any upcoming allocations. I’m also tired of the drama of waiting for emails every Thursday to see if I’ve been selected.

I’ve ordered a GMC Canyon AT4 and hope I fare better with receiving one. I realize this is a completely difference class of truck, but the way I configured my Tremor (~$42k) it made sense to me to get a more capable truck (towing capacity and interior room/comfort) even with the extra cost.

Now the question is, what to do with my Tremor order? I’m thinking of leaving it open, and hope to get scheduled, and then figure something out. What do y’all think I should do with the open order?
The GMC/Chevy twins are really nice. To me they are currently the best looking inside and out.

My question is I think the GM twins are wider but is there more interior room legroom wise than the Maverick? I've been trying to watch some of the youtube reviewers that I know have been in those and the Maverick but have not seen a comparison and no one has addressed my question. So I am pretty curious about this.

MPG is a factor for me as a drive a lot, towing not so much so I don't think I would be end up going the GM twins way because of MPG's but curious about the room comparison and then with the Tacoma coming out I am curious what it will be like as well compared to Maverick for room and MPG

If you are ok with either, keep both open and take whichever one goes into production first. Otherwise, wait until you get the one you prefer. Many of us did that with the Mav. Us from beginning of Dec of 2022 to August of 2023.

Keep it active in your name....if it ever gets build, you'll have choices. Why would you do anything otherwise?
Cuz part of the idea of: “im out” is moving on haha tough to move on if you keep your order.

as an aside to the OP. 42 american?! Iguess that must be with all the appearance packages? Like i know everything went up since last year… but my 22’ xlt 4k with katzkin interior and heating package was 32 canadian lol ala 26ish americano. 16k seems like an expensive set of rims and 1” lift to me lol dont get me wrong. The tremors are beautiful and i would have seriously considered one if they existed last year… but man thats steep

just sit on it - whenever (if) it gets built strike up a conversation with your salesperson and see if he throws out some $ for you to let it go...and don't tell them upfront what you are up to.

this is a weird forum at times. everyone complains about the markups, adders, flippers, etc.... but then encourages people who no longer want their maverick to hold out hard and git yours... weird...

if I didn't want my maverick, i'd just cancel the order... but then I'm not driven by a strong profit motive.... folks are wired differently... and some are wired just plain weird...

oh, but I will concede my mention of holding cost was a weak mention. jajaja... In reality, most only put down $500 or $1000usd to secure their order (if any)... so chump change in terms of holding costs for 6 months to a year... oppsss.

It’s a Lariat Lux, 360 assist, sunroof and hard roll up Tonneau cover. Pretty much everything except the Tremor appearance package.

I realize that the best Maverick values are in the lower to mid trims. That’s factoring into my decision to move on for sure.

I’m a mechanic and I waited 13 months for my Maverick, I get waiting sucks but you bought a GM , The worst vehicles on the planet are GM/Chevy , I make all my money on them and refuse to own one because I love my weekends free, I currently own a 2003 Ford Escape 220k on it , A 2017 Ford Escape 2.0L , and my Maverick. I hope you bought an extended warranty. Not a good decision. Maybe there’s a GMC Canyon website where people bitch about the turd they bought you can join. Peace out.

Fair point regarding interior legroom. I also haven’t seen any objective reviews about legroom compared to the Maverik. I’m assuming space will be better as the trucks a bit wider, but can’t be sure. One thing I’m fairly certain about is the quality of the interior materials, and the electronic stack, look to be above what we’re getting with Maverick.

Yeah... I really like the electronic stack. I'm hoping in the near future I can sit in one...

You missed the part where he said it was another pre order lol so no he hasn’t purchased an extended warrenty. Actually he hasn’t purchased anything yet lol anyways… despite the excessive hyperbole… i think you have a reasonable arguement in there someplace 😂

I think when compared to a Ridgeline, it makes sense to buy a Maverick. But I'm not sure I'd drop 42k on a Maverick vs a "real" truck with significantly more capability and, likely, better fit and finish. The Lariat offers very little improvements on the interior vs a 21k XL.
I agree on both counts. Personally I think the Maverick is the best value as a hybrid configuration under $30k. A Maverick Tremor has inferior off road and towing/hauling capabilities compared to a standard 4x4 midsize pickup, for about the same price and not much of a hit in fuel economy.

I don't need to tow more than 4k. I don't need more off-road than the FX4. But I like not spending mid to high 40's for the features I am looking for. And I like fitting it in my garage next to my wife's SUV.
I suppose if specific features are what you're after, then it makes sense to consider a higher-spec Maverick. However, if you just need a truck but nothing in particular and want the best value for your money, then that higher-spec Maverick may be less appealing as I mentioned.

I went a similar way to you and got a higher-spec midsize truck even though I could've gotten a lower-spec full size truck for the same money. Space was a consideration for me as well. At just under 3' shorter than a full size truck, I can park in the garage instead of on the driveway and squeeze the truck into downtown/city center parking garages while still having truck-like capabilities.

I am function-over-form, but even I will say that the outgoing GMC Canyon really nailed the mini-GMC Sierra look.

By the numbers, the outgoing Colorado/Canyon has 0.1" less leg room in the second row to the Maverick hybrid. However, since the Colorado/Canyon has more leg room in the front than the Maverick, the total leg room could be spread more equitably.

By the butt dyno, I felt the Maverick's seats to be higher off the floor to where you sit more upright. But overall, I felt the outgoing Colorado/Canyon's seats to be more comfortable since they seemed larger and the back seat felt like it had a large seat bottom cushion and more angled seat back. I think it'd come down to personal preference.

I haven't gotten to sit in or drive the all-new 2023 Colorado or Canyon. I found it interesting how the back seat lost an inch of leg room.

After 16 months I went with a SC SEL. Happy so far. I’m leaving my hybrid XL on order going on 16 months and will wait and see. Was scheduled last December at the 22 cutoff and rolled to 23. Nothing from Ford except a few stupid emails. No excuse for what they are doing to us in the 500 club while they fill 6 month orders.
