Ok guys, I am posting this challenge for fun. Who can get their truck computer to the highest MPG? Post pics of your trip computer, doesn't have to be verified @ the pump this is just for fun!

I will start, this trip started this morning after I got a tank of gas, the first 35miles was in rush hour traffic, then I had to go back home to pick something up and come back to work. so no traffic on the freeway. Here is my result;

6.7 liters/100 kms = 35 mpg US = 42 mpg Imperial. This is highway. Last tank of gas I found my average fuel consumption indication to be .5 liter/100 kms optimistic - really got to hand calculate after a refill to get accurate fuel mileage.

Oh I completely understand. This is purely for entertainment. I just want to see how high we can get our trip computers.

We're in deep winter now, fuel economy takes a real hit once it snows and gets cold. That 6.7 liters/100 kms indicated was a best case scenario, all highway, steady state 100 kmh (62 mph) speed.

I've got about 1,400 kms on my XLT 4K tow ATM, and am on my 3rd tank of gas. 1st tank average combined was 9 liters/100 kms (26.1 mpg US), and 2nd tank combined average was 8.7 liters/100 kms (27 mpg US). Lots of city driving in the combined.

Love a thread like this. Not uptight about getting it from the pump, as those dash numbers supply endorphins. Keep em coming :)

I’m more impressed with the city driving considering you’re using winter fuel!

And regular gas with ethanol too. I drive pretty easy tho - the wife has a Corolla, and we're always comparing fuel economy. I got about 25 mpg US (30 mpg Imp, 9.4 liters/100 kms) driving the Maverick home from the dealer, completely across the city thru rush hour stop and go traffic. Very impressive fuel economy IMO.

Not gonna hand calculate, that’s too much nerd crap for me. But this was this morning on the way to bowl my league.

Southern California , 1/2 mile of street, freeway, one mile of street

My old 2011 Impreza (2.5L) started dipping below 20mpg after about 160K miles. It never did better than 25mpg combined even when new.

Nice! You should setup a fuelly account. You can text your fill-up details at the pump. Just have to send miles, price and gallons. Super easy to remember because the acronym is MPG, exactly what you're calculating!
