Did you consider that maybe Ford and EPA are having "issues" ...because EPA won't confirm Ford's 40 mpg stuff?
I made this suggestion on another thread and @brnpttmn replied that it was more likely that the EPA had just selected the hybrid Maverick for EPA confirmation testing. Others have said pretty much the same things.

But would it be normal for the EPA to wait to confirm the numbers until right before release?

It just seems weird to me that the EPA would hang back and then say "Sorry, I know you're planning to release these next week, but we've just decided to do some testing that will take a while."

Since the other thread was locked...probably due to the subject just being a question mark, am starting a new one.

My Hybrid build had a 10/28 delivery date and now today it says N/A. It seems all Hybrids even those built are being delayed.
Delivery date was 10/13 now N/A.

Most of the time the automakers test themselves and submit their data to the EPA who just parrots it. Only once every so often does the EPA actually test a vehicle themselves to verify what the manufacturers claim. If the EPA decided to back check Ford on the Maverick that could be causing extra time. Also Ford could be having trouble meeting the numbers that they put out in June and are just really working at it to make them happen.

Remember that production just started a few weeks ago. I'd imagine they wait until production starts because if testing is needed the

I think the initial tests are done on pre production units, but for cars selected for a random test I wonder if that's done with a production unit. It'd make sense that if the hybrid was submitted along with the EB, but if the hybrid was randomly selected, it could still be getting sorted (the EB was only approved a couple weeks ago)

Perfect.

I reached out to my dealer in August to inquire about the possibility of switching to EcoBoost and whether it might improve my odds of getting scheduled. Never heard back. Left him another message a week ago saying I want my order changed to EcoBoost and to remove the constrained options (tonneau, etc). Never heard back. I don't have time for these games and I'm not going to chase down a dealer who has no sense of customer service.

I'm ready to just get a Ranger locally or take my $ to a competing brand.

Ford and the dealerships owe everyone of us a explanation!! This delay in building and shipping can a will always happen. What doesn't have to happen is all the secrets, this is not a national security issue. They cannot expect to keep their customers in the dark and string them along. A lot of people just want to buy a car or truck, because they need or want it. If you want to play games of chance you go to Las Vegas not you Ford dealership. We are all adults here, we can handle the truth or move on to something else. So Ford just tell us the truth and keep us informed!!!

From the road test videos I have watched, which are all, the testers are exceeding the 40 mpg.

If this was a government agency the politicians would be screaming for someones head, wanting hearings and commissions on who knew what and when and why it was hidden from the public. So Ford should be held to some sort of standard by the public and their shareholders.

I agree with a few other guys that it’s probably an emissions issue and not the mileage that’s holding things up, but the truth is that these issues should have been sorted out a long time ago and with the hundred plus years of car and truck building experience that Ford has it’s sad to see this company tripping over themselves with every vehicle delay problem that exists.

If you look at the problems they have had with multiple vehicle launches you need to ask yourself “ Does Ford Know What The Hell They Are Doing” or do they just make things up as they go along.

Personally I think it’s a lot of both, on the one hand Ford has excellent product design , development, engineering and marketing.

Then when it comes to delivering on what they promise they fall flat, can’t meet deadlines, rush poorly finished products to market, continue to make the same production mistakes over and over, do not plan for changing market conditions, do not plan for or have the ability to adjust to supply chain problems.

There is poor management at Ford at all levels and that’s why we are experiencing these delays and No I’m not just talking about the Maverick, The Bronco launch was and is a Joke and no a funny one at that.

If you want any Ford now and for the near future you need to have a-lot of patience and a very very low level of expectations.

And that applies to most auto/truck manufacturers, the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.

Or how to rig a car to pass emissions tests, yeah VW is so not trustworthy

Just checked mine. My Hybrid's 10/30 delivery date is also N/A. This is ridiculous. Why is it taking so long to get an EPA rating? Total BS.
Where are you checking this, not questioning, just want the link.
Thx

According to a reddit post there was a live stream where a Ford guy said something about epa numbers still being a couple weeks out. Did anyone catch that stream or know anything about it? I can't seem to find the reddit post to link or I'd ask there. I mean its completely possible it was just a guy stirring the pot. But maybe y'all know something?
