Made a vid about my Hybrid and Tremor orders. Not trying to spam for views, it’s relevant to the Maverick. Which would you all choose?

Haha well I’m picking up the Hybrid today at noon. Tremor should be in by the end of the month. Going to be a tough choice. I do think I’m going to be more pumped about the Tremor but do I really need it? No, does anyone? Probably not unless they live out in the country or in the mountains with rough roads. I’ll document my dealer experience today.

The base Tremor will cost an owner roughly $26,000 in additional TCO over 10 years of ownership compared to the base XL Hybrid. First thing a buyer should ask is: "What value does the Tremor provide that's worth more than $200/mo?"

It is not on the acronym thread. What is TCO?
I did not watch the video either. For my needs it is hybrid.

what miles per year driven, cost per gallon, and mpg on each vehicle did you use to get both of those that numbers?

some ppl live/frequent areas that the hybrid can’t go. Some people enjoy light off roading. Some people don’t drive much at all and the less miles per year, the less mpg matters.

Well, since the hybrid CAN do light off roading ( been there, done that ) would the Tremor be categorized as moderate off roading?

Everyone is different. Me personally I would take the hybrid XL. I see no use for a Maverick Tremor. 99.9% of the time I never leave pavement. The Tremors I have seen pictures of are very nice, but my Fwd XL checks all the boxes for me.

whatever you want to classify them each as, the tremor is much, much more capable in that area.

point was, different strokes for different folks.

Initial $8K price delta + roughly $75/month fuel delta (based on standard EPA 55/45 calc @ the inputs below) both time-valued @ 6%/yr over 10 years equals $26,846.12.

Obviously, many factors/use cases will change the underlying numbers, but it's a realistic (maybe even conservative) estimate. I'm not saying the Tremor doesn't provide value to some, but $200/mo cost delta needs to translate into a boatload of utility for me.
