Hi @Ohio44890! How is the new AWD hybrid doing on your daily drives? What options did you end up with on your XLT?

It seems you got a Carbonized Grey Metallic šŸ‘

It’s basically an XLT AWD with a drop in bedliner…. Nothing fancy
I’m definitely trying to see how good of mileage I can get from it but of course the more miles the better it will get. I’m currently still on my first tank of fuel from the dealership. I have 340 miles on the clock. Says I’m on pace for 570 miles on the tank. I drive mostly in a small town… very short trips. I do drive about 35 miles round trip to get groceries. It says I’m currently getting 39 mpg. It’s my first hybrid and so far I’m liking it a lot… just need to get use to it some more.
I did not like the continental tires on my Ecoboost… but I’m looking for max mileage right now so I’ll keep them on my hybrid

I do not like it always starts in Normal mode…should start in last used mode..also at start up the a/c is on

Ford Maverick Hybrid thoughts IMG_0664

I put the letters on right a way…I think the black and red look sharp on the Carbonized Gray

Glad to hear you are liking the hybrid and are already seeing a boost in MPG figures. I'm not really tracking fuel economy on mine, from what I recall these don't get truly broken in for a while so I figure when I hit 5k miles maybe I'll track it.

I have been training myself to hypermile and get it to glide in electric mode around town as much as possible and the trip summary can be amusing, I have seen upwards of 60 MPG, with trips to the local grocery store (about 1.8 miles) showing 98-99 MPG at times.

Yes I’m trying to that as well. I have heard break in is around 4k mark.. it will take me a year to get there. Real short drives I have gotten in the 60’s mpg range…long drive for me is around 35 round trip … I have been in the mid to low 40’s driving that

It’s definitely a learning process… but then the ice is cold so it turns on to warm itself up

Hey @Ohio44890 - checking in a month later - hope all is well.

What are the differences you would note between driving the hybrid vs. your previous EB Maverick?

That’s an excellent question….

I do notice myself easing on the throttle even more than I did with the eco

I like when you stop at a light or stop sign that it will almost always go into electric mode

Haven’t hauled anything heavy yet except 15 bags of topsoil … about 600 lbs
It still went into electric mode on my way home about only a mile

I typically drive in eco mode…. I don’t like you have to select eco mode every time you turn it on… it always starts in general/standard mode

wish the a/c didn’t turn on automatically when you turn it on

best mileage outside of intown driving
I got 61 mpg coming back from Lowe’s … about a 25 mile drive

I drive a mile to work… I have drove back in strictly electric but it doesn’t happen consistently

Overall I’m happy with the Hybrid
I’m filling up about 1 time a month
I only drive about 4-5k miles a year

I plan on keeping this for a long time
Honestly both are great small trucks

I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the truck and the fuel economy, I can't help but to think that I was an influence in swaying you to doing the spend.

I also used eco mode for a while but now I just get in and drive in normal mode, I don't see much difference in fuel consumption but then again I drive like a grandpa.

It should pop up a message asking if you want to return the the previous mode but the seat belt minder thing always hides it. I have three dummy buckles plugged in to the rear seatbelts because I have a dog shelf thing in the back so no one ever sits there, but the minder still pops up if I start the truck with my belt unbuckled.

I understand the seat belt minder is needed but having it block an informative popup is annoying.

There are eco mode thingies you can install that will make it default to eco mode, e.g. MyMavMode if thats your thing.

I was always looking at Hybrids before I was just afraid to pull the trigger and I’m glad I did

Yes belt reminded is really a joke… sometimes I buckle before starting and it still pops up
Then to switch modes you either have to be fast enough to select or wait till it goes away to select
Infotainment screen is better but that wasn’t a main issue to buy
I do drive more city in the up to 35 mph range

As far as mileage , guys from work are definitely jealous😁
Just wait till it actually breaks in

it still pops up
It does this because the rear seats have no occupancy sensors. If the seats are buckled in the back and the front passengers are buckled (the fronts do have the sensors) then the pop-up is not shown.

Thus my use of the dummy buckles.

So unless you drive a lot…a hybrid wouldn’t really help very much?
Drive less than 6,000 miles a yr
Very short trips to work…. Like a 2 miles😁

Give me your thoughts and opinions

I have the 24 eco… but I am intrigued about a hybrid
I have had both, am retired, only local driving, maybe 5k a year, mostly stop and go, I ordered a 22 FX4 with all the goodies in 21, waited 8 months for it didn't want to wait for hybrid longer am glad I didn't, am old school and a old hotrod lover, I always had a company car and a pickup in the driveway. I kept that FX4 3 years and decided I want a Lobo, I went to my local dealer to order one
they had a 25 lariat with AWD, 4ktow, sunroof, hybrid and black package in stock and got a great price on it with employe pricing going on at the time, I bought it and drove it for a year or so, I filled it up every 2/3 weeks and still had plenty of fuel in the tank getting over 600 mile of range, but I was looking for fun not fuel savings, my FX4 was fun to drive.
Another local dealer had a black lobo 702 I kept looking at on their lot a while and stopped in 2x trying to get a good deal on and a good price for my trade in that had 5500 miles on it, a few months go by and employe pricing comes in again I called them and got about 3k off all together and another 1k for the Lariat hybrid, I love this lobo, its fun to drive it looks cool with
turbo wheels, its quick for what it is and handles great, had a problem with the info screen that was corrected. It worked out good for both of us they wanted the Hybrid I wanted the lobo.
Theres nothing wrong with the hybrid if your looking to save money on fuel and drive a lot get it,
am 75 and a kid at heart, I driven lots of fun cars in my life that I cant afford anymore the maverick was in my price range has the options of expensive vehicles and find the size of the vehicle perfect for ME and my very narrow driveway.

I ended up getting a 26 XLT Hybrid…. Glad I got it… not that the 24 Ecoboost was bad… the hybrid is more to my liking
I would love a hotrod sometime… maybe an older mustang someday

We have a ā€˜23 hybrid lariet which will be 3 yrs old in Nov. We are retired so not a lot of driving besides church twice a week and the run to Walmart. Only 10,500 miles on the truck. But I love our gas mileage! Consistently getting 44-45 mpg!
