Is anyone experiencing issues with the passenger tail light not working intermittently? Not sure how long this has been happening. I did find that turning the on off switch gets the light to come back on. Any feedback is appreciated.

Have you tried pulling the taillight assembly and checking the connections (specifically, the main connection to the assembly itself, not necessarily the ones for individual bulbs)? Might be worth a shot

I have not checked the backup light but will do that before I check the connections, when I get back home later this evening thanks. The thing is that it works fine if I turn the on/off knob and the issue is intermittent so I never know when it is not working. No "bulb out" indicator on the dash.

Did not find any loose connections or any other issue as the lights are all working fine right now, including the reverse lights. Will try again next time they go off. Thanks to all!

Don’t know if there is any connection( excuse the pun), but my sons F150 had a bad connection in the main plug from the rear light harness to the line leading back to the cab. Some good old Duct tap and a wooden dowel secured the connection until a new harness was obtained 😉

On a side note, I do have the Lasfit bulb upgrade as well as diodes for towing lights when towing behind an RV. It may be possible that diodes could go bad?

My coworker told me this morning that my driver side tail light was out. I went out and started my truck and it was working.
First time, that I've noticed, this. Will have to pay more attention when starting the truck that it is on. Stock, no lasfit bulbs.

Has this happened to yours again?

Gullzway,
Yes, my tail light is frequently off mostly on the passenger side. Now I check it everytime. I have to turn the light knob and it turns it back on. It has been getting annoying. Now I know it's not only me, maybe others that have not noticed. You have the original bulbs on?

I recently noticed the same issue on my '22 Maverick Hybrid. It is also on the passenger side. Both times I noticed it, I had remote started the vehicle through the FordPass app. I drove it to the dealership yesterday with the light still out when I drove it in their garage. Of course, when they looked at it later, it was working! No codes set either. I'll monitor this thread and reply if and when I find anything out.

From the previous post, someone indicated that turning the light switch off and back on gets the light to come on. If that is consistent with all other occurrences, that sounds to me like a software glitch in the body control module.

Hello KJ86, thanks for posting on this issue. I have not been to the dealer since I noticed this but when I do, I will be sure to post any findings or remedies. I still turn my knob to off. It automatically returns itself to auto and the light comes back on. I have been doing this for a while now. Do you have the original bulbs in yours?

Hi Cruzer01. I still have the original bulbs. It looks like several posts indicate turning the knob off and on cures the problem for a while. To me, that kind of eliminates connector/bulb issues as a cause. I'm thinking it's a software glitch. If the dealership can't fix mine, I'm going to try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. These lights are electronically controlled by a "body control module" that is always powered. Sometimes glitches like this happen, and disconnecting power forces a full reset of this module. I once had a map light stuck on in an Edge that I owned. Cycling the battery power fixed it.
