So we’ve recently had some hot days (95 +) and after the engine heats up to operating temp, it is having a bit of trouble accelerating and the engine revs much higher then it usually does. Haas anyone had the same issues? Thanks!

Make sure your traction battery is being air-conditioned. I had to clean the a/c filter on our old escapes's battery last week when it was acting that way. Nice that the Mav has electric a/c rather than belt drive.

How would I go about making sure it’s being air conditioned?

I just reach up and touch the a/c lines going into the battery compartment from under the vehicle. One of them should be cold, cold...

Alright, I’ll try it when I get home. Thanks!

Well, I tried to and there is a cover plate so I am not able to. I think I might have gotten bad gas but I just don’t know.

Tums will usually help.

I recommend using 89 fuel. How are your MPGs? I have had 80-85f days with AC on and have not noticed under 43average mpg and no lack of power.

Which mode are you using? You may not want “econo” mode in extreme heat.

I know my current vehicle (2008 Kia Sorento) didn't like 87 fuel especially when it was hot out. It would ping like crazy and was sluggish. Since switching to 89 that all stopped! I'm guessing the Mav might be the same.

I only use 89 octane and we have hit high 90s here in a El Paso For a few weeks. Zero issues so far. Knock on wood…

I'm in Phoenix and it has been over 100 lately. I haven't had any acceleration issues in the heat. Pre cooling my car for a few minutes makes a huge difference when I go to get in as well.

Actually pretty decent, I did notice the last time I got gas from the start it was already pretty sluggish

I drive in Normal, sometimes sport but that’s it. Haven’t gone into sport in days

I’m in Arizona too. Glad to hear this as my Prius struggles in the heat. I plan to get clear nano ceramic windshield tint to help fight the heat.
