I have 35,000 miles on my Defender 2's on my 2024 Maverick and they are going strong with lots of tread left and still grip well. I put them on my Camry hybrid as well and have over 30,000 miles on these with no complaints.
I just hit 14k miles into my Defenders and have no noticeable difference in mpg. Now that summer is over I get around 41 to 42mpg average. I am about 60/40 highway/local roads. During the summer I was between 32 and 35mpg due to the heat and the hybrid system not working much over 95 degrees.
I am over 10k miles on Defender 2's on my Maverick hybrid. They are significantly better than the Conti's. My wife is also over 10k miles on Defender 2's in her Camry hybrid.
There is no significant MPG difference that I have noticed.
I agree with all of your points. Additionally having L on with colder temperatures will cause engine braking when the battery is fully charged/heated.
Use it with caution but it can be helpful if you need it to slow down the vehicle faster and get the best regen possible.
I live in Phoenix. When it is over 105F or so the battery will not charge due to the heat so I get lower fuel economy during the extreme heat. It works in the morning when it is cooler but not during the peak heat of the day during the summer.
So if it is below 50F or above 105F I see lower...
I recently had an issue with my 22 XLT Hybrid with 27,000 miles where it would violently shake at 50%+ power between 35-70mph. When the issue really showed itself I traded it in the next day for a 24 XLT Hybrid.
I drive up to 100 miles a day when I go to the office so I needed a reliable...
I will say that my experience with the airbag recall went well and there were no complications. Had an appointment and it was done that day. In at 7am and done at 4pm. They told me that they had 12 Mavericks being done all at the same time that day with 1 Tech per car.
My dad set an...
I tinked all 5 windows (not the Windshield) and it cost me $150. They also came to my house to do it and were done in 1 hour. Legal limit here is 30% front and anything rear.
I live in Phoenix and my rear passengers have never had an issue with it being overly hot. I did tint my truck with 30% front and 5% (limo tint) rear. It made a huge difference in the temperature of the truck.
I also had this message. I had a wireless android auto device plugged in and uplugged it and the screen came back to normal. I reattached the device and the frozen camera image came back. After I restarted the truck the camera operation and android auto device worked as expected.
Privacy Glass has the tint in the Window. You can see through but it is darker.
After tinting: 30% front - 5% rear on top of factory privacy glass (Legal in AZ)
4800 miles and a few quirks but no issues.
Quirk #1 - Electric mode doesn't come on over 110F. That is due to my climate though and most won't even see this.
Quirk #2 - The brakes take some time to get used to.
I believe it is shut off over 110F so it is mostly just engine. I did have a short electric only opportunity but it is very brief. I'm also "only" at 33MPG right now with driving in this heat.
I noticed this week that my fuel economy was a lot lower (Close to 31 mpg for 200 miles) and that when it was the heat of the day near 114 that full electric mode didn't turn on even with the cabin being cool. Has anyone else with extremely high temperatures noticed this behavior as well. When...
