Unbelievable at all of the speculation here. Nothing to believe here!

Does anyone know what specifically is the constraint is on the Hybrids? If it’s the battery then I don’t understand how Tesla can build over a million fully electric vehicles and Ford has issues with a few thousand with a much smaller battery.
Can’t compare ford to Tesla. Tesla makes their own batteries. Ford doesn’t.

Well, actually, no...

Both build battery packs.

Neither builds battery cells. Both have partners who supply those cells and have either existing or future joint venture factories dedicated to building battery cells for them. Tesla is trying to move toward their own in-house cells.

I have a printout from the dealership and everything is correct. I am priority 10. I wish Ford would at least give me the courtesy of an (sorry it is taking so long to get your vehicle) email.
The dealer has to enter your email in a specific spot in WBDO in order for you to get the email updates from Ford.

Ford is still trying to invest in more high volume battery plants. Tesla made these investments many years ago, and everyone else is playing catch up. Toyota had the same crazy demand when they initially introduced the RAV4 Hybrid. A couple of years ago, good luck finding one on a Toyota lot.

I fully expect my hybrid lariat to not be built in 2023. I think ford planned this all along. That's why they said in the M23 roll out message that no 23's would be rolled over to 24. If you are one of the thousands of people who ordered a hybrid in Sept. just plan on a 2 year wait. I think the JUly, 3rd shift, is for M24.
But then what do I really know about ford.

Sounds like it is the CVT not the battery.

The Mav CVT is not the same as the other ones used by ford. Mav CVT is only used in the Mav.
No, both the Escape and the Maverick eCVT are built by Ford. Previously the 2 motors that go into the eCVT were built by a outside supplier. The Maverick was the first eCVT to use Ford build electric motors. But I would guess by this point, the Escape is getting the same Ford built motor since they are better and probably cost less for them to make than buy.

The Escape eCVT is different from the Mav, this is why you can get an AWD hybrid Escape but not an AWD hybrid Mav.

Although Ford used the HD-10 hybrid CVT from Aisin Seiki, a supplier for Toyota, Ford claims that it did the development of the Escape Hybrid on its own

Ford has been building them for years. This is from 2012 https://www.wardsauto.com/technology/ford-says-homegrown-cvt-key-speed-fuel-economy-new-hybrids

As far as my math showed, Ford is out of Batteries. It's that simple. There are x batteries and they have y vehicles that need them. Tesla's cybertruck issue comes down to batteries. GM only releasing a halo product is down to batteries. The first ram EV being so unbelievably delayed they keep sneaking in 1 year pushbacks with each new reveal is down to batteries. In a couple years when production facilities currently under construction finish Ford will probably be launching a PHEV maverick. Then we can all start doing EMPG math and bragging about low ass weekly gas costs.
There is another battery plant opening soon in Georgia for Ford. They are currently hiring all people.

Ford has one battery plant in Georgia coming online in Georgia now. Two more in Kentucky/Tennessee next year.

SK On, not Ford, has one operational plant in Commerce, GA, with another in the works. That's where they manufacture battery cells for F-150 Lightning, amongst unknown other products for unknown other auto manufacturers. They also have a 3rd in the state in the works for Hyundai.

BlueOvalSK, a joint venture between Ford and SK, has one plant under construction at Blue Oval City (outside Memphis, TN) and two plants at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, KY, south of Louisville.

Both current HF45 variants (Escape/Corsair vs. Maverick) are manufactured by Ford at Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center in MI. They are different, and use different electric motors. Maverick's is of an in-house design, which is where much of the innovation came in.

No announcement has been made to indicate these two have been merged.
