Also note that the condenser is a three phase motor driven. If you are more than 2°F from the set temp it will run faster to increase BTU output. Speed of condenser will also increase as fan speed is increased and will make more noise. If you have AC on automatic the condenser and fan speed will vary much more and make less noise as temp of cabin approaches the set temperature.
Also: when in auto set the fan to the max speed you want auto to use. Then if you want more fan just put it on max cool and AC will turn every thing on full blast until you put it back on automatic and the fan and condenser will drop to their appropriate speed depending on temperature difference from set temp.
That makes perfect sense.
Thank You very much. 👍👍👍
When I recorded the audio. The truck had been sitting in 110°-112°F. All the windows have been covered with WeatherTech window coverings. It wasn't quite as bad as if they weren't covered.
Again Thank You

I have not had the same noise on my Maverick, but my previous auto was a CMax, and the A/C running (with the ICE off) made an exceptionally loud whining noise. The dealer could never find anything wrong.

If you use remote start on a hot day and the ICE isn't running the pumps are pretty loud. It's more like a loud whirring sound then a buzzing or grinding. It's definitely a pump/fan sound if you know what your listening for.
I would not worry about a whirring noise. This is more of a fairly loud buzzing grindy noise AND the whirring - only when the A/C is on. It varies in loudness from time to time. You really can't hear it inside, but if you open the window or door, it is then very noticeable. The A/C still blows cold though so whatever is happening has not affected performance.

My 23 Maverick hybrid. UPDATE
7-17-24 11:15am
First start of the day.
Outside air temp 109°
Climate control AUTO 72°
Outside the truck, in front of the grill, hood closed.
Engine running w/ac
A/C without the engine running.
Truck is facing north.

Here is the sound of my air conditioner. . Mine is actually louder without the engine running.
Both air conditioner and engine running till 5:41 then it's just the AC no engine.
Had to do a video of what I recorded. I don't know how to change audio formats.

That sure sounds like mine also.

I picked up my new Hybrid 2024 Maverick, and I have the same issue exactly. When I turn on my truck, rarely I can hear ungodly noise. If I turn off AC and restart AC, then it is gone.

Yup! It started out relatively quiet but got loud so they replaced it and the replacement is louder. When I took it back in they gave me the old, "It's normal."

You can not stand next to the truck and have a conversation if it is running.

I have a 2024 Lariat Hybrid. I'm curious if anyone with a hybrid has a lot of noise when the A/C compressor runs? I seem to get a reasonably loud variable "buzzing / grinding" sound when the compressor runs that to me just does not sound right. I think it has happened since I bought it earlier this year but I'm not positive about that fact. Is this normal for a battery-operated compressor or do I have an issue I need to bring up to Ford?

THX
Mine is loud as well. I have to turn off the a/c completely off and turn it back on. That seems to make it not as noisy. I did take video of it a because it did concern me.

Are you implying that the A/C on the Maverick is normally this noisy?

Yes
It seems to exactly as "MakingDoForNow" has explained.
For the Hybrid Maverick
As the cabin temperature reaches the desired setting on auto, not only does the interior fan slow down but the AC system under the hood also quiets down.
Good Luck.

It is very loud while on Max Cool. In 109°F interior of cabin will be 140 maybe more. If AC is set on auto then it will max out whether ice is running or not. Ice will run on MAX AC. While on automatic when temp drops to where air flow cannot use all BTU from condenser then the condenser will be reduced in RPM to whatever can be used. The ice will cycle on and off as needed. If you choose Max Cool then unlike auto the ice will remain on as well as condenser. (Max heat or max cool is one way you can keep ice running without cycling on/off, at least on hybrid). There have been several threads with recordings in the past. The lariat with the sound reducing windshield keeps a lot of noise out of cabin, so you may want to ask for one if you replace your windshield. FYI the AC on max cool has enough capacity to cool a two or some three bedroom houses. Of course you can put AC on manual with fan no faster than three and condenser will not run flat out.
