My 22 Maverick EB AWD has just about 3700 miles now and the other day it got a bit warm and I tried the AC and it only puts out air warmer than outside temperature. The AC light is on and temp is LO and compressor is running as is the radiator fan. No matter what I set the controls to there is no cooling.

Also I have noticed that when it was cold out and I used the Ford Pass app to start it the cabin was hot when I got in it but when I turned the key to drive the heat was significantly reduced which is also how it is if I start it with the key and begin driving. My last Ford a 2019 Fusion hybrid had subpar heat and I chalked it up to this one being the same but now not so sure.

Lastly the auto stop /start has almost caused me to hit the car in front of me twice and randomly shuts off before I come a full stop and then restarts while rolling and is very jerky.

Anyone else have similar issues with their EB Maverick? Have an appointment with the dealer Tuesday morning and just trying to figure out if this is going to be a drawn out mess.

What do you mean your auto start stop almost caused you to hit the car in front of you? Lol it shuts off your engine… it doesn’t catapult you into on-coming traffic. When the engine restarts, it functions the same as any other car.

as for the other bits, i have no AC issues. Though your temp reading would maybe be more accurate if you weren’t at minimum fan speed settings 🤷‍♂️

and remote start has standard (max defrost) settings, whereas when you turn the car on it defaults to settings you shut it off at.

i dunno if this answers your questions. Kinda hard to piece your post together.

“Got a bit warm”?

The ambient temp shows 56*F and is likely the reason the AC isn’t cycling.

Good luck

Fan speed has zero bearing on output temperature only the velocity of the air output from wherever you select the air to come from, regardless of ANY setting of the controls there is zero cooling from AC. The heat is markedly different in temperature from the remote start by the app VS just a key start or what happens to the temperature when you turn the key after starting with the app, from pretty much sweating to a bit chilly it drops off that much. When this most noticeable like temp in the 20s or 30s the heat was set to the highest temperature and medium fan speed when it was shut off so it shouldn't be that drastic a difference in temperature. As for the auto start /stop it seems as though it starts back up with a somewhat higher idle and if the brake is not pushed pretty hard it does indeed jump forward, and it is totally random. Generally before it does this when it shuts off it feels almost like it is missing and shakes noticeably when it shuts off. 2 other people have driven it and noticed it as well, not just me. Yesterday it shut off as I was pulling into my parking spot at work and then restarted while rolling which is definitely not normal. {QUOTE="Pickles, post: 552646, member: 10858"]

Just to clarify the 1st time I tried the AC was Tuesday and the high temperature was 77 degrees F and with the AC on full fan and Max AC button lit there was no cooling at all and the picture was the next morning on Wednesday and while the temperature was 56 at that moment later in the day it was close to 70 and no cooling at any point. Temperature reached a high of 82 today and I tried the AC at various times throughout the day and always no cooling just moving air through the vents that felt like ambient temperature. Stopped and let it idle a few times and the AC compressor is most definitely running while AC is on and not running when AC is off. By running I mean the compressor clutch is engaged and turning.

Sorry for your troubles. It is of course possible that you have a bad sensor but also remember that the system has among other things a humidistadt which when the LO condition happens regardless of your settings in order to prevent condensate forming at the dewpoint on your windshield the AC condenser is turned on and the defrost cycle is turned on which directs air output to windshield as well as as the deflector vents to the front side windows. Try turning off the recirculating air to help lower the humidity within the cab. Also it appears that you have MAX AC selected (red thermo handle mostly covers the light up on it) and this also can over ride some settings so I use max only temporarily and let the automatic stuff do it's thing. Try reading the manual on remote start and AC paying attention to all the details lines. It is a hard read!!! Good luck.

Perhaps you are low on refrigerant or it's not circulating due to bad valve?

Thanks MakinDoForNow, I am leaning towards an electronic issue myself. I tried with Max AC on and off (it was on in the picture) with no change and today the air was actually a few degrees warmer than outside temperature so it is definitely not cooling at all.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

clearly either the compressor or the blending door aren't working. There is nothing that makes that AC not work in normal temps.

So, no issues found with auto start/stop but I think it is still “off” as it has twice shut off since I got it back before coming to a complete stop and immediately restarted. I am going to just get the eliminator and turn it off and forget it.

As far as the AC /Heat they said the temperature sensor was showing a low voltage reading and when they physically checked the wiring one of the pins was dislodged from the plug. Once they repaired that everything’s working as it should.

Also had an issue with the main screen getting pixelated and a few freeze ups and they performed a master reset and that also seems to have resolved that problem.

There was also a noise in the left front suspension when turning left with a bumpy road which was blamed on the straps to hold down the bed cover when fully opened hitting the side of the bed and moving those seems to have silenced the noise.

Last issue was a rattle from the left rear door like a loose linkage rod, this was also blamed on the straps to hold down the bed cover when fully opened but it was doing it again later the night after I got it back. What I found after shaking everything attached to the door was the belt molding was the cause of the rattle, I pushed it down and the noise stopped.
