I think my option of adding one to an overlaid rearview mirror / screen is a good way to implement it

It could be done easy enough using a wifi camera and android auto/carplay streaming adapter box. Once it is set up you just click on the camera app to open the camera. Here is a youtube video showing how to set it up. I found this guy a bit annoying to watch so you have been warned

I'm surprised - and pleased - by so many replies to my post. Yes, I was asking, but I think I've got the solution. It's an inexpensive waterproof front/rear camera from Amazon that sends the video image to your cellphone via wi-fi. Simple solution that doesn't require any special wiring or the addition of a second (undesired) screen. Here's the link if interested.

Hello Mike.

I found a company that distributes Rostra products who make amongst other things camera upgrades for Fords.

I contacted a Rostra reseller; Camera Source as I've a 2024 Maverick in Lariat trim so it has Sync 3 etc.... At any rate they verified that the prodoct linked below is what will work with my Maverick.

However I'd contact them to verify. Perhaps give them your VIN so that they can double check compatibility;
