I am technically having 3 orders. I had two 22 orders, one was scheduled, one didnt. I rolled over my unscheduled one to a 23. Then when the allocations came out that dealer told me I should put in an order somewhere else because it probably wouldn't be built so I did. Now my scheduled one was canceled so I'm waiting for Ford to convert that to a 23 as well.
Do you need 3 trucks? If so enjoy. If not you are part of the problem.

I ordered two Ecoboost last year. GF ordered two Hybrids this year. For those that think this is scummy.

Have you ever heard the saying, "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket"?
Look how many folks have done that here. And how many of them, still have no vehicle because of a scum dealership.

If next year this time you still have no Maverick and the dealer either ghosted you, added ADMs or dropped the ball on your order all together... blame yourself. Because you didn't CYA.

This has nothing to do with taking anything from others. If that person buys the Mavericks they ordered.

I still think it's a lousy thing to do

How is it lousy if the person buys the vehicles? This makes no sense. 🤣

It's lousy for a person to wait a year or more only to be let down by a garbage dealership.

Hopefully you'll receive your order. If you don't for one of the reasons listed. You may feel differently.

Ordered one, XLT hybrid with multiple constraints.

After talking to a Ford customer service rep last Thursday, I don’t have much hope my new MY23 order will be fulfilled.

He said hybrid transmissions are reason for delays. Factory where they’re made can’t make them fast enough. Priority to whatever MY22 builds can be done, then roll-over MY22 to MY23 orders and finally new MY23 orders.

He told me be patient because it may be some time before I get the scheduled for production email, if at all.

Oddly, I sort of like the interior on the Lariat, though most people I've talked with don't seem to. I don't care for the wheels though, so I didn't really consider it. I'm also trying to keep my payments at the same level as they are on my used Ram, so opting for the XTL trim seemed like the best trade off to me. I also really do like the interior on this trim too.
Same. The Lariat is kind of a backup depending on how I feel about the XLT. I plan on getting some wheels from an slightly older Bronco that I like.

I only ordered one in 22 and got canceled. That’s not scummy? Also as everyone keeps pointing out I didn’t order from Ford the dealer did. It’s the dealers vehicle until they sell it to me.
It's the dealer's vehicle until they sell it to you? What if they sell "your order" to someone else, using that same logic?

Yeah, patience. We're all learning that, aren't we? With my impending divorce my Maverick was a bright spot that I was looking forward to. If I didn't have the bike to take my frustrations out on I don't know what I'd do. Nothing like cheating death on the twisties to clear your mind.

on the maverick subreddit ive already seen a ton of people telling other to put in multiple orders and just buy the one that shows up first. this is the scummiest thing about this whole new car experience. i mean if i called 5 pizza places and ordered a pizza but only paid for the first one that got to my house i would still be liable for the other 4 pizzas and at the very least would be blacklisted from those restaurants. ford really should of limited orders to 1 per customer untill they could meet demand or put people who back out of multiple orders on a back of the line list. the only people who win when people do this is the dealers who can can sell all the rest of your orders for wayyyy over msrp.
Lots of assumptions in this post. I ordered two Mavericks configured identically, other than color. One is for me, and one is for my wife. We both love trucks, and we both are driving high-mileage vehicles that will need to be replaced soon. Realizing the long wait times, I wanted to get ahead of the game, so that we don't have an "emergency" when one vehicle craps out.

Both of the Mavs we ordered are hybrid Lariats. We may or may not receive even ONE of them, the way things are playing out. If we only get one, it will replace my older Toyota Prius C that has always been "too small" for everything we do. If we get the second one, it will replace her Chevy Impala that has almost 125,000 miles and is starting to have little things go wrong that require lengthy stays at the dealership to repair/replace. Ironically, the Maverick has almost identical interior "roominess" specifications - something that she loves about the Impala.

The "resale market" for "used" Mavericks provides a bit of a comfort factor in ordering a vehicle that we cannot test drive (or even sit in) at the dealership. IF it turns out that we get both trucks, and one of us really doesn't like the Maverick for some reason, it's comforting to know that there are plenty of people who would be happy to take it off our hands. The fact that we could break even, or even potentially come away with a small profit adds to that comfort factor.

I'd be angry with the dealer but it would help nothing. We're all a victim of the times and decisions that were made some time ago. My dealer has been helpful as best he can.

I understand your logic and can't fault you on placing several orders in hopes of get one if they actually built and bought. I considered ordering a Ranger too in hopes I'd get either a Maverick or Ranger built.
My previous references are to people ordering multiple vehicles with the intent of flipping them with little to no intentions of keeping any of them. I'm sure there's a number of people who feel the same way about both of our positions.
For many this could be the last vehicle we purchase, and in my case, I've also always wanted to order a vehicle so I could say it's just what I wanted. It still may not be exactly what I wanted, but it's close enough and what I can afford at this time.

And yes, it's sad, if not disgusting, that some dealerships are treating people in the manner they have been. It seems the potential for some to bilk a couple thousand extra out of someone overrides their desire to follow through on a commitment they made to another customer who they agreed to order and sell a vehicle to. Or, as has been the case with some here, try and bilk a couple extra thousand out of them in the process. Integrity and the building of customer loyalty seem to have taken a backseat to grabbing quick cash from anyone willing to hand it over.

I'd hope we'd all get our Mavericks and be treated with the dignity and honesty we all deserve. Sadly, it won't likely be the case for all with the current conditions that exist in the current supply/constraint conditions. Some will/won't get their builds, but it should not restrict the way we're all dealt with by either Ford or their dealerships.

If both of my 22s that had to get converted to 23s get scheduled then I will cancel the last one. Hell, if my PA gets built first, I will cancel both the other two orders.

Come back to me after you've waited a year with nothing to show for.

Kind of like the 2020 toilet paper shortage but with trucks.
