Did your KEY Battery Low Replace Soon come up on your display at anytime during this issue?
Mine came up about a dozen times before I got the P1061 code and even again after the code was reset and I had the battery replaced.
Nope, I didn't.

If it goes past 30 days then file a lemon claim. You do not have to accept the buyback. I got money from Ford and my truck fixed.
How did you go about that??
I’m having difficulty just getting rental car reimbursement.
Took 3 times to finally get them to replace my engine.
I am out tow, car rentals, hotels, and loss of income due to the vehicle being my company vehicle.

This has nothing to do with the consumer. Ford has admitted a component failure due to a manufacturing defect in the engine long block and is offering free replacement for 10 years or 150,000 miles from the warranty start date.
I’m having similar issues with my Ford. 67k miles and out of original warranty and they want $11,450 to replace the long block.
Do you know where to find this information about Ford adding the 10 year 150k warranty to know issues that they admitted? I am about to start conversations with Ford and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

They sent me a letter, but it sounds like you didn't receive one. Back of the letter gives contact info for concerns or questions:
Ford Customer Relationship Center (CRC) 866-436-7332. Open weekdays from 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
You'll want to have your VIN handy. Good luck.

Thanks a bunch! I will see how it goes but I’m not the same engine. So I’m not in the same boat. Thanks!

Waiting on a tow to the dealership now.

Truck went into LIMP mode last week with engine code P1061.
2022 Lariat Hybrid with 38,000 miles.
Will post back with outcome.

They told me that if it’s outside of 7 years, regardless of miles it will not be part of the TSB. (And that TSBs are not recalls).

Is that based on the type of engine you have, your VIN, or something else?

They have all my info and VIN, etc. The dealer called Ford to ask for some assistance with a GCCT (whatever that is). Ford rep told them that anything over 7 years…customer is SOL. Really sucks because I’m the original owner and I’ve always serviced at the dealership, etc. note that I have a Ford Edge, not the same as the Maverick. But Ford is Ford and they have known issues with the 2015-2018 edge. And that is exactly what I am experiencing now. P0303 code with coolant in the cylinder.

Sorry to hear that. Wonder where they got the 7 year benchmark? Sounds random. I also wonder if Ford dropping the Edge line has something to do with it. Your vehicle is coming up on 10 years old. Might be an incentive to get a new one. Of course, this is coming from a guy who drove a 2002 Asuzi for 20 years.

Well, longer story. I tend to keep cars a long time. First Mustang was a 1992, original owner… ran awesome for 17 years. Sold it as it was wearing down (I live 3 blocks to the beach/salt air) and I couldn’t take clients in it. I got a Ford Fusion and held that one for a good 7 years-Sold. Bought a new 2016 Edge… as we have discussed, and that one ended up breaking. Bought a new 2019 Ford Fusion for the daughter, it’s running decent (knock on wood). Bought a new Mustang Mach E GT High Performance. That thing was awesome right up until the same stuff started breaking over and over. I had to get rid of that within 2 years, I had to sign a non disclosure or I would tell you who had to buy that one. Point is, I’ve been in a ton of Fords and the Mach E and the Edge have finally done me in. No more Fords for me.
Someone explain this to me: Ford says the long block replacement will be $11,450 to replace in the Edge. The Kelly BB value for my VIN in “good shape” is $9,800 to a private party and $7,025 for trade in to a dealer. Supposedly, my Edge needed a new $11k engine. (It ran rough in those the final days.) It was not in good shape. Why does FORD offer to buy it from me for $8,500??

When you get a free tow under the Ford warranty, they will tow to the nearest dealership, so I didn't really have a choice. It was the same dealership I've been taking it to for regular maintenance and recalls for the past couple of years, though. Driving it around, I'm not noticing anything odd (strange noises, oil leaks or anything like that), so seems good. Looking at the order, the tech just followed the WSM (Workshop Manual) procedures they had.
When I had mine towed last week by Ford, I was able to select where I wanted it towed.

Did they provide you a loaner vehicle? They called me and said if my dealer didn't provide one, I could rent one myself and Ford would reimburse me, I think up to $40/day for a Ford car, $65/day for a Ford Truck.

Just got word today that my engine needs replaced due to a spun rod bearing. Surprisingly, they expect the engine to arrive Monday. I'll see if that happens.
