Since I got scheduled for a 2022 with October build date it will be off on mine. Here in California $20 means I save enough for about 3.5 gallons of gas. :ROFLMAO:
Hahahaha. Sounds about right. My $20 savings will go towards 1 Tex-Mex lunch w/ house margarita of course.

I ordered a Lariat with Lux Package. I can't remove the hotspot, correct? Truthfully, if I could it can go. LOL!!
They ARE removing it from most if not all Ford's and I believe there is a reduction in the price of a few $ which will show on window sticker.

I read that Ford was to stop installing the wifi hotspot on August 22. And trucks prior to this would have it ........does anyone prior to this date show the wifi delete on their window sticker......I wonder if this could be what is holding my truck up

Got my VIN last weekend and it was removed without me asking. Takes $20 the sticker price.

I'd imagine deleting the hotspot means also losing app connectivity which controls things like remote engine on/lock-unlock.
No. There is still a 4G modem in the vehicle. It just deletes the local WiFi hotpost that lets devices connect to your truck for internet.

It's a $20 credit. I got an updated build sheet from my dealer today.

Does anyone know if or if not the hotspot deletion was to not install the hot spot sim card into the 4g modem and if I could possibly insert a TMobile sim card into the modem???? Thanks in advance.

It will still be connected to AT&T for FordPass Connect remote functionality.

No hotspot feature will be available.

Connecting it to T-Mobile still won't get you a hotspot.

I understand that the at&t connection is still active. The question also phrased "is the modem in the maverick capable of hosting two or more sim cards which could among other things give the maverick direct access to a second signal (4g LTE or even 5g)?

There is no "the hotspot SIM card". Where did you even come up with that?

There is 1 AT&T connection, shared between FordPass Connect functionality and the hotspot feature. The reason for offering the hotspot feature in the first place is because of the existing FPC 4G LTE modem. Not to add another cellular connection. Most of the hardware was already there, it just needed a WI-Fi router built in. That's what's being removed.

The only thing removed with the deletion of the hotspot... is the hotspot feature.

The only way to restore the hotspot feature is to swap the hardware (presumably the TCU - Telematics Control Unit, and any associated hardware) with one that does have that feature. Even then, it may or may not be disabled in software since it was built without the hotspot feature.

The dual sim card modem is what I want. Ford can use it's AT&T sim card and I do not want a separate billing for data wit AT&T and want my own data plan
