So I've got a 2025 being build and opted for the keyless entry keypad. I've noticed in the illustrations that this appears to be a horizontal keypad on the door panel rather than vertical next to the window as on my 2023. Not a fan of this.

Can anyone confirm this is how their 2025 came installed?

I assume that if this is being mounted on the door panel that it is not hardwired(?) and is merely tuned to the same frequency as the vehicle and key fobs. I also know this is a dealer installed option so maybe I can give them my preference...?

It’s not hardwired.
the images I have seen are above the handle.
tell the dealer to program and you can stick where ever you want.
I have seen behind rear window.
im going to attempt to put in my gas filling door. (Ecoboost does not require to push button from inside truck) My dealer just programming and putting in the glove box for me.

Ford no longer builds the keypad in the frame, nor has a mounting spot for the stick-on on the pillar. You're pretty much free to stick it anywhere but on the door panel is the most common.

I'd prefer it vertically on the pillar... but not if the numbers will face the wrong direction.

best is built into the pillar like it is on my 2023 escape. sadly it's no longer available. it's nice and hidden away until you touch the pillar and then the stealth keypad lights up with red led. i would definitely buy this option on a maverick if available.

it also can't be ripped off your vehicle like the stick on keypad. not that it would be of any use to a thief anyway..

Oh like the touch sensitive kind. Yeah those look sharp. Definitely not aftermarket, not cheap anyway. I don't think it's as reliable and definitely more expensive for Ford. Gotta think about those impending tariffs.

I received the keypad on mine and it was above the handle horizontal. Not a huge fan of it but it came this way and not sure I want to deal with attempting to move it. The numbers are designed to be horizontal so you'd be stuck with that if you go vertical.

Hey, dare to be different!!!! Go Diagonal!!! How about on the front of the door or back window pillar?? Too cool and windy here for me to go out and look at my Mav to see if there is room on these places. Maybe somewhere else. I am thinking out of the box here as my box doesn't "hold" as much as it did in the past!:teehee:

I just bought a 25 Lariat that had been ordered with the keyless entry pad by the person who ordered it. It is installed above the door handle.
The salesman said that it arrived with it installed from the factory, but the window sticker says dealer installed. Which is true?
I think it looks terrible, and if it’s just stuck on with double sided tape I may try removing it. My wife has an Aviator and we have never used the keyless pad.

The keypad is held on with 3M double sided tape. Easily removable and you can put it where ever you would like. I have mine in the fuel door on my 25 Lariat. Make sure to pop the bezel off to gain some clearance.

23 was the last year for factory installed hardwired keypad. Keypad are now all the stick on battery type.

Damn. Wish i had thought of that. I HATE the way they look on the car (including my old 23 Mav), looks like something from the 80s, but I would have went for this.

I don't mind this, but how do you access it without your key? You're Eco Boost right? I think this might not work for hybrids due to the pressurized system?

Bryan,
You are absolutely correct. It will not work with a hybrid.
I really don't understand putting it in the fuel area. There is the possibility of getting fuel on it. I would think it would be kind of a pain to remove it for some reason the battery is had to be changed.
Yes, I realize they're long life batteries and not meant to be changed.
