Does the passenger side lower bracket block the windshield wiper fluid neck at all?

I have installed a Husky liner high hood protector. That's made closing the hood require a bit more "speed" to lock.

What impact would the struts have on closing the hood?

My issue with the hood prop is it's too short. Do these open the hood wider?
It's likely to be worse, as the hood prop arm attachment point in the hood can go into the spot further back to raise the hood higher, while the struts being shorter will prevent to hood from being lifted higher unless they are removed...

The built-in (supplied) prop rod has two possible "holes" on the hood.

Normal, and one for tall people that holds the hood higher.

Slot (normal) you have probably used.

Square (extra high) you and many others have probably never used.

I use the square hole many times.
Try it. You may like it.

Hint: you may have to wiggle the rod to get it to go in, and wiggle again to get it to come out. It's snug. Which to me means very secure.

Yep first thing I added to my Maverick, been on since Dec 2021.
Never liked any small poles holding up a hood. So easy to install "a cave man could do it".

If you need your hood opened wider than I would use the hood rod support. But I am very happy with the opening with the struts now. I am able to add washer fluid and check my oil dip stick.

Have the Ford hood protector and I don’t feel like it takes any more effort to shut and close my hood

Careful………….
The appropriate hole is shaped to take the rod.
The other holes allow the rod to go through the first metal layer, and rest on the outer, top layer. That’s the aluminum exterior hood that we see (only the other side) when the hood is closed.
On a previous vehicle, I was using the “inappropriate” hole, when a slight gust came along. The hood raised a bit (rod stayed put), then came back down onto the rod, with most of the weight pushing on the top, exterior layer, leaving a zit apparent on the top.
It was an older, utilitarian vehicle, so no big deal.
But on the softer aluminum hood, it would be considerably more prominent.
