We had lights on sale at work for 1.92 so I figured “why not”. Of course I had to spend 15 bucks on mounting hardware. But, what the hell, its Christmas.

I guess I should have also said, the safety factor is why it's illegal in many places to have Christmas lights on cars.

1- Attracts drunk drivers to slam into you (like they do police cars).
2- Distracts other drivers- makes it harder to distinguish brake lights, turn signals, and traffic lights.
3- Also screws with people's night vision and
4- Makes depth perception harder, someone might not realize how close they are to the vehicle without the usual dark space between brake lights getting larger.

I hung mine on the inside under the tonneau cover this year. More for my grandson to see than everyone else. Visible with the cover opened up.
