If you want to see your odometer without keys, toggle the headlamp switch.

I guess it's not very necessary as it shows when you open the driver's door also. But I was sitting in the truck long enough for it to timeout and go dark again. Toggled the headlamps and voila.

I found another feature accidentally the other night. I had turned off my XLT hybrid but bumped the turn-signal/high-beam stalk while getting out and heard a chime. Playing with the stalk I found that pulling it towards me (flash high-beams normally when driving) would toggle the headlights on and off. I know there was a chime sound when the headlights turned on (looked to be normal headlights, not high beam). I don't remember exactly, but I don't think there was a chime when the lights toggled off.

Ya I just noticed tonight if you open the door with headlamps in "manual" it chimes to remind you your headlamps are on. If you toggle the high beams stalk, it turns off the chime.

I think you are correct. The high beams stalk only turns on the regular beams when the truck is not running.

You can turn on the radio without a key whatsoever just by pressing the on button. It also stays on when you open, shut, and lock all the doors via door button or external keypad. I think it runs for 30 minutes. But odd in an empty locked car.

More like having an "oven day" around here... Yesterday it was 106º, and we've been over 100 for weeks now, with no indication of cooler weather to come... It's ridiculous to year yourself say "Oh good, it's only 98º outside, so I'd better get started mowing the lawn before it gets hot!"

Yep, you can pull on the high beam stalk while the vehicle is off. That'll turn on the headlamps, for like a minute (some small amount of time). Ford has had that feature for at least a decade. They won't stay on, though. If you need them to stay on, you gotta turn the key/push the start button.

I found that if you have the brake hold enabled the truck will not auto start stop but it does not show ASS as disabled.

Yes, for up to 10 minutes or so, until the infotainment screen turns off, if no door is opened sooner.

This all is beginning to sound like when my dad installed 4 way flashers on the 62 galaxie.
I wish I could remember what the out come was. I remember if you put your foot on brake and turned on the flashers the radio would play with the car not running. Very weird.
