I purchased the Ford front deflector online at Ford. I watched a video on how to install. It doesn't look too hard. The problem is that it is missing the alcohol pad (which is no problem), but it is also missing the surface prep pad. Is this a glue actvator? Or maybe just a stronger cleaner like mineral spirits? Will there be any issue with not using that prep pad?
Thanks!

I just now finished installing an AVS Aeroskin. It came with both alcohol pads and a pad with “adhesion promoter”. After using the alcohol pads used adhesion promote. You could definitely see it. It is more than a stronger cleaner. Not sure but I’m guessing you could fine adhesion promoter at an auto parts store.

With this new"streamlined" design where it sticks right on front of hood, does it help to deflect bugs and debris from windshield or just protect the paint on the front edge of hood?
The "old style" ones usually stuck up about an inch from the hood which seemed to "deflect" quite well. Just curious because I haven't installed mine yet and looks like once it's on, it isn't going to be easy to remove if it's doesn't help protect the windshield ( have seen some threads on MTC about Ford using a "softer" glass on their windshields lately; don't know if that's true for Mavericks)
