Just trying to get a gauge on if something is my imagination or not. I know the real answer here is go to a mechanic. 😉

I get (what I think) is heavy vibration from the center of the truck - not the steering wheel - when accelerating medium / hard. Especially happens at high speeds but also at low speeds just to a lesser extent. Again, is only slightly speed dependent, and doesn’t at all happen when coasting.

I got new tyres recently so thought it was that but took it back for a rebalance (they did say they were a bit off). But still there / no real change.

Could it just be the difference between smooth stock tyres and my new Pirelli Scorpian AS Plus 3s?

Or I just used to my EV and this is normal?

Or mount issue? Thoughts on cause?

I wouldn’t rule out the CV axles, lots of post/threads on having to get them replaced, a known issue on both powertrains but seems more prone on the hybrid for some reason

Betting it's the CV axles. How many miles on your truck? Very common Maverick issue.

That’s the thing - only 36K.
They definitely could be out at that mileage. Mine were, and many have actually had them fail at less mileage than that. It's a powertrain component so you can get them replaced under warranty.

40,000 miles is exactly when my CV joints in the front both went out on my Ford Maverick hybrid 2023

I've started to notice that my 2022 with 58k seems to have a vibration when the accelerator is used. I don't feel any vibration through the steering wheel, so I don't think it's tire-related. It doesn't vibrate when coasting. I need to "test" and see if it's happening only when the engine is running or if it occurs in EV mode.

Would the CV axle issue appear in both drive modes?

You can always start with checking the boots and see if grease is starting to come out along the shaft, vibration is definitely common when it comes to this. Can always go by a tire shop too and make sure the tires aren’t out of balance

Only!
Many have had it done with far less.

My right one at 20k.

Now, I felt no symptom yet, only inner boot leaking (there's your center potential), and winter time I think techs were not busy, so they took the warranty work.

And I'm sure the inner would have taken much longer to start showing symptom since it's not involved with corners.

@Pop2020
Doesn't matter where the drive axles are getting power from if that is the issue - if they are turning is what matters.

Did you notice/feel the vibration before your new tires?

I noticed it after my new tyres. But I have had the balance checked. Plus, it is not coming from steering wheel. Feels like from center / engine.

Could be the driveshaft assembly, mine only vibrated in cooler weather and over 60kph. A new driveshft was installed under warranty and problem was resolved.

It seems to be new tire related though.

Road noise/feel are a big part of the decibels in our Mavericks - and different tires sound/feel different.

However, your issue disappears when coasting - ruling out road noise.

Are lug nuts tightened to 148 ft/lbs?
Are new tires heavier than what they replaced?

Seems torque related…

Seems dependent on how much power is being used....below 20% on the guage, maybe a little bit of vibration, but get it up to 30-50% or more and it is a pretty noticeable thing. I'll have to crawl under the thing this weekend and take a look.

Problem showed up after new tire install.

Driveshaft would not be affected unless truck was lifted improperly and something on the unibody was “bent”?
