Gust wondering if anyone has put a cover on the heated steering wheel?
I would like to keep it clean and from waring but don't know if it would affect how it works or cause some underling problem.
Or just keep cleaning it

Don’t see much need for a wheel cover, ware has not been an issue, at least not after four years. Using a window screen while parked in the sun will likely protect it and the rest of the interior better than a cover on the wheel itself. UV does the real damage, IMO.

I have a heated steering wheel.
I use two steering wheel covers. The nylon stretchy one in the winter. The heat from my steering wheel comes through just find.
It is Cheaper to replace a removable steering wheel cover than the steering wheel.
The oils in my hands tends to be very acidic. They wear through the finish of leather covered steering wheels within a year. Once the steering wheel finish is gone it seems like it stays sticky.
I don't think the Maverick uses leather on the steering wheel but I don't want to risk wrecking the finish.

Its ActiveX, vinyl (plastic) soft touch material, just like Lariat seat covers, to the best of my knowadge.
Doesn't matter. If it's a soft cover that has a finish on it and not hard plastic. The oils in my hand will destroy the finish. When I retired, I drove and delivered trucks throughout the southwest. I wore cotton gloves I bought a truckstops.
My hands are always sticky/tacky.

Yeah that’s a thing. I knew a guy whose hand oils ate through the aluminum case of his Macbook Pro.

I have the same thing happen with cell phone cases I have to replace them every so often. My hands will turn the inside of latex gloves brown.

Yes, I've had a generic 15 inch universal "nappa" leather cover from keyboard-mash brand on my lariat since new. I have mine because I always scrape the bottom of the steering wheel with my keys and knives and flashlight and stuff getting in and out. Heat still feels fine, cover hasnt damaged anything.

I have a cover on my heated wheel and it does buffer the heat a little bit, but i'd rather have less heat than a worn steering wheel.

Ditto Glen - Due to my toxic integumentary excretia and excessive grip I will lunch a steering wheel in a year. ALL of my fabric style steering wheels get treated with a disposable cover (generally vinyl or simulated leather). It has not overly diminished the heating factor (which I personally don't use, but wife does).
