I agree, but I think the OP is referring to his dissatisfaction with the headlights coming on automatically at dusk rather than the auto high beam you mentioned.
Yes, I believe you're right.

Did I mention I share your appreciation for the auto high beam feature? It's a big safety feature for oncoming drivers as well as being convenient in not having to turn flip my high beams on/off manually.

I didn't realize having the headlight switch default to AUTO would be a problem. Obviously, it's a personal preference, but for the life of me, I don't understand why. I'm happy not to have to think about turning on my headlights and have to scratch my head when I see new vehicles driving around at night with lights off because of driver error. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
It's nice to have when we're camping or at drive-in movie theaters. If we need to adjust something in the truck, it's nice being able to do so without having the flash of headlight.

Those are valid points, but surely you aren’t doing that on a daily basis. Seems to me that on those rare occasions it’s a simple matter to manually turn off the auto light.

I use it as a work truck so it happens enough for me to notice. To be fair, I am used to having an old F150 with only manual lights, so I'm comfortable turning it on when I need to.

If it comes to it, it might end up being something I set to "auto" most of the time, then edit the Forscan into "last known" specifically when I plan on going camping or to the movies.
