Thanks for posting, I'm also planning to carry a kayak on the Elevate rack (once I get my truck that is...). Am wondering if you've tried the rack at the lower setting. What's the reason you chose the next higher one?
because he likes to show it off? LOL

Hauled a 16' Hobie kayak using Thule Hullavator lift system attached to an Elevate Rack system. Had to do a few mods on the Hullavator to attach it the the Elevate Rack.
First trip did about 30 highway miles, kept the speed at about 65 as a trial and it came through with flying colors. Kind of an expensive setup but I already had the Hullavators so just had to buy the Elevate.

Hauled two 12 ft kayaks on top of a Chrysler Town and Country for years with a smaller one inside. Got too old for all the lifting so I gave the kayaks to my son. He carries all of them plus one more in the back of his F-150.

I thought my 13’ was pushing it, but that’s actually not a bad setup! Great job!

I used put my kayak on the top of SUV, need at least 20 minutes to load and unload kayak. Now just put on the back of truck, is way more easy.

I bit the bullet with the thule rack and j-stacker. Other than needing 2 people to load/unload so far so good.
