Has there been SYNC3 updates?

Edit. My vehicle does not have SYNC 3 so most of this post does not apply anymore.


When I check the Ford web site and enter my VIN it says "Not available on this vehicle" with a big green check mark. I am not sure what that means....does it mean I up to date or possibly no updates are available for this system...not clear.

I have a Lariat and my understanding is that I should be able to download updates and upload through the USB port.

I have had my Maverick for almost a year. My audio system seems to need a soft reboot every couple of weeks. I mostly only use it to play music through a USB memory stick. The glitches include continuously repeating songs, only recognizing a small percent of the list of songs and just stopping and not playing anything.

There is nothing else connected to my system...no phones and no Fordpass.

Is the current version of SYN3 listed somewhere?

My Mav is on a train to my dealership scheduled to be delivered next week (who knows if that actually happens), but when I log into my ford account : https://www.ford.com/support/vehicle-dashboard
i see the following (screenshot below) where I can download a Sync Update. (My plan is to have the dealer update it when preparing it for delivery and handing them a check

I used this last month on my 2017 Ford F150. I got get the latest update simply using a USB stick. Watch the Youtube video on this website and follow directions by downloading the updater. It's really simple.

I had all kinds of problems with my Sync 3 because it wouldn't update to the newest version and Ford wouldn't allow it to be updated going through the Ford owner website. Once I downloaded and installed the Syn3 updater, it is much more responsive and my AAwireless adapter works fantastic for Android auto.

Syn3 updater... If you Google it and check it out through YouTube it has fantastic reviews and it's free.

I'm not so sure about that, since every truck has wifi and almost everyone will be able to setup a hotspot on their phone or connect to a wifi network to do the update. If somehow a person can't do that, dealers can easily update it.

Just reporting what I heard on the youtube video. I did not watch until the end so for what it's worth I don't know one way or the other. Just confirm for a few sources what mods or updates you perform.

He would have to have the Lux package to get Sync 3. If he doesn't, then that's his problem right there.

My mistake I guess. I thought SYNC3 came with the Lariat package. I guess I will try the WiFi download.

Since yours apparently is not equipped with Sync 3, maybe try updating the radio itself. A previous thread on that process is posted here:

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I did the WiFi update and it went pretty smooth. Download took about 10 min and the install about 5. I stayed in the vehicle to watch the process. As stated elsewhere the update was not recognized right away. I did it yesterday and checked this morning and it had changed and a voice message said the update was complete. Here is my update
