Installed the one with turn signal and white light as a DRL. The strip was stuck to the hood for a better look. Ran the wires thru the hood down to the hinge. It is cuttable and adjustable thru a simple interface , same for how long you want the turn signals to go.

the strip that is scanning is not it, that’s a custom deal I made from addresssable led

Hello. Thatnk for the reply. I plan to install it above the lights from end to end. Its 59" so I dont need to cut it. The LED comes with adhesive on the top and the bottom with a red removable liner. Obviously only one side needs adhesive. So on the other side that adhesive needs to be removed to prevent it fron sting to the hood...Right?? How do you remove the adhesive to prevent this? Am I making sense?

You could leave the red tape on to prevent it from sticking or goo-gone

A lot of info on those in this thread: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...pretty-impressive-for-the-price.25953/page-19

Pay particular attention to how ThomasToo placed his, shown on page 19 of that thread. You want the front edge of it down low enough that it can be seen under the front of the hood, if you lay it on the flat surface above the grill it won't be very visible, ask how I know. I redid mine and it's much better now.

As for the tape on the unmounted side, I found I could peel it off with some effort and patience, leaving the bare white strip which helps with the brightness of the strip vs covering it with electrical tape. I tried heating and cooling the tape while peeling it off but found that what made the most difference was the speed and angle that I pulled on it. This was in 80 degree weather, your mileage may vary.

Lastly, if you don't already know, you want to connect the power to the side marker light in the front fender, that's covered at the beginning of the thread I linked.

Good luck.

Anyone know if you can run this on the headlights of the XL/XLT and make it look like the Lariat DRL?

You would have to heat and open the headlights to fit a led in there and possibly drill through to run the wire.
better off getting a used set off a lariat that’s been totaled.

I did not get the one you linked in, but I got a similar brand when I had my XL
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BPYL1YN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I had it wired through my left side marker light and I bought a T plug and play adapter so I did not have to splice into my factory wires. The light strip came on when my headlights were on and also flashed when locking and unlocking the vehicle. I really liked it but, but did not get it again with my Lariat as I felt with the factory LED DRL's that may have been a little much. Hope this helps if you have further questions don't hesitate to ask.
