Has anyone had to use a lemon law on their maverick?

Took it in for the third time this morning for water intrusion, vehicle smells of mold and carpet has burn patches from them drying it last time. My vehicle won't come out of deep sleep mode so the app has been unusable since September and the interior lights do not come on even when I charge it to full with a battery tender. The dealer said they saw no issue with the battery and the water leak has been sealed to the point where it can't be reproduced without heavy rain.

If I trade it in I lose $4-5k, if I sell it private party I will be a dick. I saw some things regarding the lemon law and was wondering if anyone has gone through with that process. I don't think they would replace the truck since the 2024s cost another 4k.

I did it. In CA it starts with the BBB. I got approved for a buyback, but declined and Ford gave me $2500 for the trouble. They somehow sent another $2500 so I got 5k and my truck fixed. I bought the extended warranty with it.

C'mon chief. What research have you done on your own? Tell us what you've found first perhaps?

I saw a bunch of people mention possibly doing it on here, but no one who actually went through with it. The posts on other ford forums are a few years old and mentioned it was a massive pain and they lost quite a bit of money so I was trying to see if it was still the same.

It looks like California is a bit different, but there is a section for Virginia on their website so I will look into it when I get my truck back in what will probably be another 10 days. Thanks

Mine had same problem. Found the leak in the roof seam after back in forth multiple times not finding the issue. Sat in service last time for almost 5 months do to parts restriction. Mine qualified for lemon but they fixed it. Our state is i believe 30 days in service or multiple same issues.Had to install a whole new interior making sure the mold smell was completely out. But it's fine now. Ford was very good about it also. Dealer brought in a expert to fix it. Water doctor. Ford pickup up tab on everything including rental. Hope that helps

Unfortunately my dealer has not given me a rental so I just have to look at it being stored in their back lot untouched when they had me make appointments. My water leak is related to the windshield cowl, and it probably just has to be replaced at this point but they are dragging their feet.

Doubt anything will easily come from it, but asked to be referred to the buyback department and opened the bbb auto line complaint. Will update if anything happens but been without a vehicle 27 days and when I do have it the mold keeps coming back and I worry about future corrosion from everything under the dash getting wet by the fuses.
