My hybrid maverick will be built in 5 days ( i have the vin ) so i have 5 days to make sure nothing is missing

looking at the order, the salesman added the Hard drop in bed liner.

my first pickup truck by the way. And im more into car detailing than using it for work.. i have another car when i need to carry stuff. The maverick im buying is just for the show really,

i understand that having a bed liner is a must if you carry stuff.. even a small lunch box can scratch the painted bed.
but the thing is, im more into the look of a car than the practical guy.. i find a pickup truck without bed liner much more beautiful. Especially if the hard tonneau on top is color match
I think a simple floor mat would do the trick if i need to carry something.
but when i just want to expose the mavrick in a car show a
i want it to flash and shine, a floor mat can be removed in 10 seconds to expose the beautiful paint.

my question is this.. how long or how hard is it to remove the hard liner drop in? The factory hard drop in …. and put it back in… ? Is it a two person job?

If you search the forums here for drop in liner instructions or install there has been information about it, however just like you mentioned already… the bed maybe scratched from someone that was not careful installing :cautious: so hopefully it will be ok

Don’t have a direct answer, but I have seen a diagram of the liner and know that is comprised of multiple pieces which would certainly make it a one person job. Time line might be a little longer than a single piece, but I would think it should be doable in pretty short order.

If you are that close to the build date, you can't make any changes to the order!

@Error , take a look at the install video linked toward the bottom of the page. You can "reverse" the install from this video.

Penda Ford Bedliner

It looks like a single person job all the way.

It should be a 15 minute DIY. It's a matter or removing the D ring anchors, 2 self tapping screws, and unsticking the adhesive strip channel which holds the back of the bedliner (against the back seat wall). That will probably be the hardest part. Strong fishing line should make that easier and then remove the remaining gunk with alcohol. I was thinking of removing mine as it makes installing the bed cubbies, bed lighting, and tonneau covers very difficult but then again, a Line X spray in will probably cost $500-700 so I'll just live with it. Plus, anyone could steal stuff you keep in your bed cubbies.

what?

you need to remove the hard drop in bed liner to install a tonneau cover?

i intend to install a hard roll up tonneau later. (If i can't find a one peice solid color match tonneau..

like i said, i won't remove the drop in liner if it is too difficult to put it back in… I hate the look of bed liner in general.. too much plasticity…. I like old school look more.
im just affraid it would scratch and dent faster if i put nothing.

anyway, i hope you can install a cover tonneau on top of a hard drop in bed liner..

I'm not %100 sure if it needs to be removed but the drop in bedliner takes up a lot of space where the tonneau cover clamps are supposed to go. There is only like 1/2-3/4" of space for the clamp to bite on. You definately can't put LED strips there either the entire length of the bed rim with the drop in bedliner as there are 2 plastic bulges on both sides of the bed blocking off that channel.

Trying to install bed mat with the remaining 4 vertical pieces from the drop in. The drop in bed mat will be removed so the sides tuck neatly over the soft mat
