Hack to turn on the cargo lights while driving?

The truck doesn't let you keep the cargo lights on once the speed reaches a certain point. Is there anyway to turn this off? I know it's illegal to drive with the cargo lights on but if there's nobody behind me shouldn't it be my own personal choice to turn them on for a second if I want to see in the bed while driving?

its a legal issue. most states have a "no white light to rear" statute in their vehicle codes while the vehicle is moving.

right but it's kind of weird that you can't physically do it even if you wanted to. what if i live on a farm and am driving on my own private farm roads and want to have the bed light on while moving more than 5mph?

I think Ford opts for what affects the masses more than the individual driver. Maybe able to redo it with Forscan but not sure. Good luck in the search for your answer.

i think the typical answer to that is the aftermarket's litany of ranch and off-road lighting options.

I can't see stuff in mine even during the day, unless it's big. The bed is pretty deep.

Every truck I owned before this had a switch or button you pressed that turned the bed light on when you wanted. THAT seems like easiest solution to me rather than add in complicated programming
