This is what I plan to do instead of the sliding rail. I agree that the bed is small enough to likely not need the rail. If I end up not liking it its only $10!

I plan to do this also.just remember,dont get carried away with how much tension you use on the tie downs.i,ve read the sheet metal of the bed could bend out a little.
