Nor should you be adjusting your HVAC controls at 80mph down a highway. JFC you guys are so dangerous and distracted.
I was always able to reach and use a button, knob or temp slider without looking away from the task at hand.
As for the other A/C buttons,
A quick glance I could see them all and poke one.
But alas, those skills are no longer needed. I’m feeling old.
the Youngers need screens !
Give me touch screens!
I must have new tech !

I miss wing vents. :’P

I remember those..
My only "F" - F-100, did not have A/C..
They were great when I, locked myself out one time..
Used a screwdriver to "Lift" the locking handle and I was back-in. :ROFLMAO:

Ahh, Those were the Days...

because one person used it? these kids and their dang slang!!!!!
One person used it and I think the rest are using as satire, I know I did. There is no right and wrong opinion here but if someone thinks they are right and others are wrong for having a difference in opinion is just weird. As far as slang every generation has their own versions of slang terms.

Worst case scenario, windshield suddenly fogs up.
I can twist a knob in a heartbeat.
After some stick time in a knobby car I can operate every single control without looking away from the road ahead.

FORD where is our heads up display like the fighter jets ?
Where is our full on voice command and control like the Firefox jet in the Clint Eastwood movie ?
Give us that and I guarantee you it will blow away all the competition.
:’P
Crazy I know,...but you can press the max defrost physical button in the 2025 Ford Maverick once you memorize the layout like you do in your current vehicle.

I'm fine with the slang, just kidding about that.

there are facts though (woah, based!) and physical controls require less distraction to operate than a touch screen. if someone wants to argue ridiculous things like no one should be adjusting anything in the vehicle while driving that's their prerogative I guess. I'm going to continue to live in the real world where people absolutely do adjust things while driving and given that I'd like to make it so they are distracted as little as possible.

now would this stop me from buying this truck? probably not by itself. it would be annoying relative to physical controls and that's about it. On closer inspection I see that it appears that Ford left an "OH SHIT I NEED DEFROST!!!" button. Seems like they agree that making that a touchscreen option would be dangerous.

That’s hard to quantify until you actually have use of such controls. My 2013 has fan speed and temp controls on the steering wheel, the Mav I ordered has voice controls and from what I read on the forums it controls the set temperature pretty well. My fusion is very inconsistent at regulating temp. I’m looking forward to stepping into the future and I’m going to enjoy this truck for what it is.

voice control could be better if it works well. touch screen? pretty much no way that's better in terms of ease of use and distraction. are all of the mavs getting voice controls or only the upper trims/packages?

I believe all of them since they are all on the ford sync system. I believe all trim levels are on Sync 4.0 but don’t quote me on that.
