For those wondering about “waterproof” I put it through the car wash yesterday and no water got into the cabin.

I am really surprised. I was expecting some water to go down the sides of the truck bed and drain out of the bed. But the walls and floor were dry.

So i expect this to do well in rain. I still have my setup such that some water can come in and drain out without causing an issue, but it is doing well so far.

But then you have to tow that clunky thing around, can't park in congested areas, and get reduced mileage while on road trips. Camp trailers are fine for when you are heading to a local campground. Not great for cross country road trips.
Agreed. I just can't justify the price.

I am really intrigued with the GFC on a hybrid....considering one for my hybrid if/when it ultimately arrives. Any additional news to share after you've had the opportunity to live in the GFC for a few months? Thanks in advance!

Hey Lumonix, I sent you a private message, I would love to hear your thoughts of the Maverick Hybrid/ Go fast combo now that you've had it some time. I am getting my Maverick in 2 weeks and plan to get a Go fast v2 installed in June

I have replied to your message but will add some info here:

GFC camper integrates nicely with the Maverick. Everything is holding up great so far. Enjoy the extra space the cabin gives me.

i enjoy rooftop camping during good weather conditions. But as the weather became worse during the winter I did end up getting a small fiberglass trailer to live in during winter.

But that is to be expected. In the end the GFC is still a tent.

If you like rooftop camping (i do!) then you’ll likely love the GFC/Maverick combo. If you are unsure if that is your thing you might want to try a cheap solution for a few weekends first (like putting some 2x4’s in your truck bed and putting a cheapo tent on it) since the GFC is not cheap.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know if the Go Fast Camper placement interferes with the operation of the moonroof?

I’m curious about the moonroof question as well.

Also wondering if it would hold up to regular touchless car washes.

I suspect the moonroof would open ok, but can’t be 100% certain since I do not have one.

The Moonroof would be partially blocked by the GFC tent section that is above the cabin.

As for car washes, totally fine. GFC are probably stronger than the Mav itself. I do tend to use manual car washes most of the time as I prefer them.

Does the GFC interfere with your antenna and XM Satellite reception?

No problem with Sirius. FM takes a hit and no room for even a stubby antenna. Never tried AM
