I can’t use the high pump setting but I am never in a hurry I set the pump on its lowest setting and when it clicks off I stop. 24 eco boost. No problems yet
Both my Ecoboost’s, I can fuel on the high setting. And I do until I think I’m almost full.
I like to get it on low for the last couple of gallons.
When it clicks I stop.
I am Not so OCD I gotta try and cram another eight to ten ounces in.
If I fill on high til it clicks then let it settle I can get a whole half a gallon in.
OoOoo, wow.
What a waste of time. I’m not screwing up or clogging my EVAP system.

Remember OP has a hybrid. Fuel tank has a bladder that the EB doesn’t. This past weekend I had a similar situation with the fuel door and slow fill on my hybrid. I attributed it to having been nearly 4 weeks between fills. I had to press the fuel door button several times to get the gas door to open. Then I had difficulty filling but, that may have been mostly the pump. Seemed to pump faster than most. Great for F350 with 40 gallon tanks but too much for the 13 gal tank in the hybrid. Next fill up was normal. This was on a long trip from Las Vegas to Tucson. After 3 or more hours drive duration before filling. Maybe the release mechanism was dragging due to pressure or vacuum buildup in the tank.
my plan is to note if it happens more and get it checked by the dealer if it becomes an ongoing problem.
If OP can reply if still having issues there may be more insight to the problem.

Quick question ? What model Mavericks have a push button to open their fuel door. My 23 Mav Lariat Tremor just has a manual push and release the door itself. Works for me. NO problems fueling either.

The hybrids have a pressurized tank. Push button to release vapor pressure through canister then open fuel door. There is a green pull thing in fender well to use if release button doesn't do it's thing.

OP hasn't been back on since he posted.

Hope he didn't have a fuel accident.

Cue video clip!

I had this same issue this morning. After hitting the fuel release door it took a longer amount of time then said something like fuel door not able to open consult owners manual. I hit ok and hit the fuel door button again and then it opened. I then had the worst time filling. After about a half gallon the pump clicked off, then would do this after about every half gallon filled like it was full. It appears that for someone reason the fuel was going into the tank very slow and causing a backup. The stopping of fuel was not from topping off cause I had about 50 miles to empty. I think a big contributing factor was it was 59 degrees out and was the coolest morning we have had here in Florida in a long time so maybe that is the case. Hope this helps or maybe someone else has some insight as well.
Just wanted to update everyone, this was a one time issue for me. I have filled up 5 or 6 times since this and no further issues. It was early in the morning and temp was low 60's (lowest it had been here in Florida in a while) so I think that was the contributing factor.

Everyone have a great Halloween weekend!

Considering how many of our posters are in cold climates without an issue - I'd suggest you got a sticky valve that the temps may have pushed it over the limit for it's current state.

If you have notices of the error condition in Ford app or picture, and still under warranty - the dealer tech can do scanner requested opening/closing of the valve, see if it takes more current than it should.

Because sticky is likely only to go one way.

Unless you stopped for fuel several times at the super premium Gerta's Gaters & Gas.

And it may take a few visits to your normal Top Tier station to clean that mess up.
